Saw a packet of these today and always reminds me of Pools and my dad taking me when I was 7 sat in the Millhouse seats just in front of the old press box.

Yes! This. My first ever match was in 1985 and it's that song I remember clearer than anything else that day! I'm not even sure who it was we played. Northampton I think. Anyway, they seemed to play that song every game for about 3 years, even though it was crap.

I always remember Pools playing a shite Fleetwood Mac track and Billy Joel Uptown Girl through a crackly inaudible speaker system. Times have changed though... we get different records now!!!!

in fact I'm sure there was a corner bit between the Town End and the Clarence Road side, and you simply walked down the steps on the back of it to get in/out

I remember standing on the inside of the advertising hoardings at the back of that part of the ground, to get a better view!

Yes I think you are right, but wasnt there a walkway type thing between the terrace & the old wooden stand were you came along from the turnstile, then you went up onto the terrace from there, but I could be wrong. I remember standing on that bit of terrace in the Crystal Palace cup game in 79 & when we beat Crewe 6-2 in a league game in around 80/81, cant remember the exact year.

Rust. There's another thing that reminds me of Pools.

'Always something there to remind me' by Sandie Shaw, which sounded uncannily like 'I'm a funky lesbian' through the cack PA system of the late 70's.

All morning for a tanner at Seaton Baths, wandering back into town by any one of a number of routes, home for dinner, off to Pools, then Dr Who on the telly. Great times. I should have taken the win there and then.
