Before the game last night we had Hughes proclaiming this was our Cup Final. Well he certainly did not have the players up for a cup final or the tactics to win a one. Granted Pompey were always going to play defensively but he had us set up for an away game.
Obvious it was going to be a goalless draw after only five minutes but as usual he waits until an hour is gone to make some changes. The guy can talk for Scotland but when it comes to walking the walk he hasn't got a scooby.
Bournemouth changed their manager about the same time as us when they were bottom four like us. They went top of the table last night while we couldn't even beat the only team worse than us to get off the bottom.
Another piss poor appointment Hodcroft. Well done!

for the first 30 minutes, whenever we ran at them...they just persisted in fouling.

for some reason after this, we decided to play long ball. we haven't had any creativity for about 3 seasons now, why people think it's going to change with the same personnel in different formations is beyond me. i have learnt to accept we are going down, seems to be a bit less embarrassing than it looked before christmas, and to wait to see what happens with the squad. if there aren't changes, then is the time to judge more

aye fair comment like. That Sodje should have been a target to get huis second yellow, he's an emotional bastard. I was watching the goal highlights a few weeks back.. he grabbed hold of the ref's arm and started shaking it after a penner was awarded against him - I was amazed he never got sent off for that. Think it was the game they lost against Colchester at home

He was ripe for a sending off but we let him off the hook I thought

It wouldn't have taken much for a second yellow. A little kick on his calf behind the refs back or a word in his ear telling him what a big fairy he is. But we are too nice, have been for years. Where are Mark Tinkler, Gary Strodder, Tony Skedd and Roy Hogan when you need them

I think Mark Tinkler was in the Press box doing Pools player. He would have done better on the field than Sir Humps. How does he keep getting a start?

Because he puts in one decent performance against a shit team once every 12 years and the numpties forget all the shit he served up in between.
