RIP Saint Cyril, without him we would not have a Football Club, let alone a Football League club. His building of a promotion winning side also kept us in the League three years later, by allowing us to have another division to fall into once the Gibson mess surfaced.

True Pools legend. They don't make them like him anymore!

The best thing Gasher Gibson did was to appoint Cyril, pity he pissed on his chips later on

Thr turn around in the teams perfomances, especially at home was out of this world

And he did try and talk Captin Bob (silly boy) into staying.

It just struck me that becoming a legend is a matter of timing. For example, if CT had died during our promotion season instead of sodding off to the Wendies, he would be held in every bit as high esteem as Sir Cyril and Sir Brian.

Same with everything though.

Diana (who also died today) is only the Third Greatest Briton because she died in a car crash.

RIP, Sir Cyril. No doubt he'd have gone on to bigger and better things if he'd have had more time. A true Poolie legend.

Yeah, RIP Cyril Knowles. Probably one of the few footballing guys that are admired and loved by both Darlington & Hartlepool fans alike.

You won't find me praising Hodgy PP. It's slowly getting worrying. The squad we have, should definetly be top 3. Defeat tonight would make it four league defeats on the trot, which is not acceptable.

A defeat tonight, and I'll be agreeing with you.

Honestly?

The team we have are of a much higher quality, we've replaced poor players like Dickman, Sodje and Webster with Cummins, Joachim and Smith.

If Hodgy can't get us the results to get us promoted, then someone else will have too (sooner rather than later).
