Aye then it went to 68489, then I think it went to 687489.

I can remember our kids number from when he was at Kew Gardens, 01 940 6114. That was 1969!! The year, not the phone number..... confised :wink: :grin:

Not long after my mum and dad got our first phone installed, I rang Manchester United Football club on 061 872 1661. Don't ask me why Manchester United.

Billingham Poolie on one of his first days working for Hartlepool council decided to ring 'Whitehall 1212' just to find out if it really was Scotland Yard. He quickly put the phone down when someone answered 'Hello, New Scotland Yard' !!

Went to Pools in September 1966 while the phone was being installed.
Came home number was Hartlepool 5903
Attendance at the game was............5903.

I used to have 222007,at the time Pools had 222077,Every time it rained or snowed on match day I was plagued with calls asking if the game was still on.
