What is first class like on Grand Central, has anyone been on it?

I was in London earlier this week & on the journey back a load of drunken fools got on at York & I spent the rest of the journey home having to listen to these idiots, shout, swear & generally make an arse of themselves. When we confronted them to shut up as we had my daughter with me & there were other kids on the same carriage it turned into a slagging match & the security lads on the train had to stand between us from Northallerton to Hartlepool.

I am going back to London at the end of November & to avoid the riff-raff, thought I would upgrade my ticket to first class.

Dunno about recently, but a regular occurence on the late Sunday runs would be that the train would be diverted to Darlo (problems with the signalling being given as the reason). Train would go on to Sunnerland but peeps for the Pool had to be picked up by taxis. Nice way to finish a journey.

me and our lass had a nice day out at Crewe the other week on the choo choo and we'd had a few drinks, but there was loads of lads and lasses got on at York who'd been out on the lash all day... and the Transport police got on in numbers to escort them cos they were certainly a bit boisterous!!!!

Bobbies got off with them when they all did.... guess which station that was????

I have just stopped using it after 4 years or so as no longer in London. I honestly thought it was good value for money and the staff are pretty good.

No real trouble, excepting the racegoers after a full day on the lash.

Saturday is hen party day in York.
A couple of years back we were in Yates' Wine Garden and counted seven different hen groups there at the same time, and that was only in one pub in mid afternoon.
