Over in loid land. I know this is another Darlo thread but it boils my piss at how arrogant and big they think they are having no respect for the teams in the division they find themselves in. I for one hope they get hammered at the weekend and all the way through the division if these comments are anything to go by.

Yes, Darlington's fan base is incredibly big for the NL. I guess if I was being anal you could try and compare it to the relative town populations but it is becoming more obvious that we are simply too big for this league.

Eh? It was always obvious to everyone we are by far the biggest club at this level, even before you take relative town populations and the split of tickets into account. We are a bigger club than all the other joke shop clubs in this division put together.

Quote:
That won't matter a jot at the end of the season when you have teams like Celtic nation kicking about. As a friend of mine said "This is classic Darlo. We should be the biggest club in the league but instead we've landed in amongst some lottery-winning chancers buying up all the best players! "

Eh? It doesnt matter how much money joke shop clubs like Celtic Nation and Spenny are throwing about - they are still joke shop clubs and we are still by far the biggest club this division has."

I like people to spout stuff like this before the season starts, because when it all goes pear shaped it makes it all the more sweet.

They do have a bit of a point though, they have sold 718 season tickets, that will give them a massive funding advantage at their level. From what I've seen, they've been able to almost cherry pick players from other Northern League teams. Whether that is a better approach than Celtic Nation who had brought in League experience in the form of Boyd, Arnison and Lee, only time will tell.

Getting out of the Northern League shouldn't be that difficult, getting any further will be.

Haven't Spennymoor won that League for the last 3 seasons? They aren't going to roll over and die for Darlo.

Yes they have, under the watchful eye of a certain Jason Ainsley.

It's by no means a stroll in the park is it?? I doubt the pitches in the winter will be anything like league standard, same with the refereeing, the crowds will be miniscule on a lot of occasions and as was already said, no-ones there to roll over because you were a League Club recently.

Workington anyone?? Bradford PA? Barrow?? The list is endless. No reason to suppose darlo will be any different. Fail at the first hurdle and you're fooked.

It's hilarious that Quakerz is now having message board spats on a Northern League forum with Marske United fans just like he was years ago with fans of clubs we've all heard of, like Pools for example, surely he's being ironic (coming from a Loid) moaning about 'Spendymore' sctatchinghead

Another interesting/hilarious character on reading that message board is 'AIDO' Has anyone ever talked more deluded, sanctimonious, pious twaddle ever on a football forum? Go in any thread to find him jabbering on all dreamy eyed, it's like he's constantly been on LSD since Darlington 1883 were formed. He absolutely hates Pools as well

Why would they want to kiss the draught animal that pulls your caravan??

Mind, I suppose it would look more like a certain pull than Dave 'I'm not gay' Hodgson.

And more literate.

Might have gone along for the game if Pools were away.
I could have got Mutley to show me the art of climbing over a 6 foot wooden fence!
