It's a bit of a stretch to blame Drummonds anaemic reign on the Labour Party- they didnt even have a majority for a sizeable chunk of his time in power.

The reality is that he was a normal, everday, bloke no different to the rest of us, who fell upon a slice of good luck. Anyone who has had the misfortune to have to deal with the council itself ( the people who work for it, not the councillors themselves ) will probably find as I did, that they are largely a pack of indolent, workshy, jobsworth not nice people, who in the main have lttle or no aptitude for a job they probably got via the back-door because a member of their family works there.

The utterly shambolic mess they made of the Tall Ships for instance just proves how utterly, utterly, out of their depth they were when it came to doing some proper work. I suspect about 50% of them would last about a week in the private sector.

You also cant blame Labour for not supporting some of Drummonds other pie in the sky nonsense, like that Victoria Harbour bollocks. Or perhaps Dibble was referring to the Millhouse crap, which even IOR seem to have washed their hands of now its been disclosed theres a £5 million quid black hole in the finances. Lets be honest, when they have had money to spend its generally been pissed up a wall, or pissed up a Transport Interchange for want of a better phrase.

Drummond is mayor of a third rate coastal town that seems to be permanently on the brink of closing down altogether. There's some good points about the place, but lets be totally honest, most of the fun is happening somewhere else, and you cant really blame businessmen for not wanting to invest in the gaff.

Unfortunately some complete and utter not nice people at the council are currently doing my napper in. Apparently because I didn't notify them in writing when I started work they reckon they are going to prosecute me for Housing Benefit Fraud.

This despite the dole saying to me the would tell the council , me ringing the council and telling them, and me setting up a standing order for me rent the same week I started work, and paying the fucking thing for the last 4 months.

Apparently I have to be interviewed under caution on tape, which means taking a fucking afternoon off work. They also reckon I have to repay the £1100 overpayment of rent I've allegedly had off them, even though I haven't had it.

Spent about 3 hours in the last 2 weeks talking to liars and thicketts on the phone, and got fuck all nowhere.

I was paying Housing Hartlepool for me rent, and unbeknown to me, so were the fucking council.

I wouldnt be bothered bout going to jail if I'd had the coin meself.

Next thing you know I get a letter accusing me of fraud and warning anything I say in reply may be used in evidence against me. Surely if its fraud I have to have gained some pecunary advantage ?

HH wont pay the money back while theres a fraud investigation pending, so I'm just going round and round in circles when Ive done fuck all wrong.

The funny thing is that I do voluntary work for the councils Youth Offending Service. They haven't suspended me from working for them for nowt now they think I'm a master criminal I hasten to add.
