The laziness really winds me up and it affords them a unique status of which they are both undeserving.

I also hate the term 'gametime'. It sounds American ffs but its creeping its way in

People saying 'United' and 'City' always reminds me of of Terry Christian appearing on Fantasy football league in the mid nineties and claiming that 'United' were going to drop the Manchester part of the name as they don't need it.

Whad a fooking 'lovely lovely person'.

Another odious twat. And people wonder why people hate that particular team with tossers like that flying the flag for them. James Nesbitt is the same and tries to crowbar a mention in of 'United' into every piece of shit comedy/drama or interview he ever does.

Its the same with Liverpool "FC" why people, especially talk sport and Stan Collymore, have to put this on the end irritates the hell out of me. People dont say Sunderland AFC etc

I can honestly say i've never picked up on that. Mind you, I go out of my way to avoid Talksport so that may be why.

I'll keep an ear open for that

Sunderland fans saying SAFC annoys me, we're all Association Football Clubs.

Don't get me started on 'Boro'

When people say Boro to me at home I just talk about Peterbrough and it soon shuts them up.

Aye, but does that mean we have to stop calling Pools, Pools because there's a Blackpool and a Liverpool and an Ullapool?? Manchester City fans call their team 'City.' Should we always say Hartlepool United??

Of course, I agree, those who aren't from Manchester who use these terms should be shot with their own shite. Particularly that waste of DNA, James Nesbitt.

I hate the way the BBC website insist on using clubs nicknames to show a non-existent familiarity. Did you know that Crawley are 'The Red Devils' and Cowdenbeath are 'The Blue Brazil??'

Pools is unique though as it comes from 'Hartlepools'

Fuck it I'm going to start calling us United.

Here's my predictions

City
Forest
United
& Redbridge

Northern League

London 1908 Olympics Arthur Wharton FC

What he said. I dare say nobody would refer to us as Pool or The Pool if it wasn't for for the s at the end of Hartlepools

Outside of Poolie company, I call us Hartlepool as I wouldn't expect people to know who Pools are

True, but I know of no other club that is referred to as Pools, even among its own fans. So I don't think it's disrespectful or arsey to refer to my club as Pools. But like jish, if I'm away from town I say I support Hartlepool.

Evolution Mr John. When we were Hartlepools United, we were known as 'The Dockers.' Hence the scary midget with the massive heed (Mr Parmo's relative, surely) on the girder on the crane on the front of the Footy Mail.

As though I can teach you owt about Pools, like.... bbolt

Not exactly, but they've got a kid in from Manchester United (as we now have to call them) on a six month or year long loan.
