Well I'm no Michael Fish either and I reckon the temperature is going to fall below 30°C before the night's out.
(it's got a way to go yet though)

Our conservatory has been flooded out......not an air sea rescue helicopter or inshore life boat anywhere to be seen? I blame the Tories!

good job you are not on the HTH board you would be blaming pools and the mayor.

It was bad, but I still say the worst weather I've ever been caught in was one Sunday morning at Greyfields about 2002/2003. The sky turned pitch black and I've never seen rain like it. Anyone remember that?

Yep, it was 1st game of the season, glorious sunshine one minute, as dark as night the next minute. remember being sat in the old boys after it was called off with buckets all around us catching all the leaking water.

Yeah, it was mid-August time. Never seen anything like that before or since.

It was surreal, the fields were flooded in minutes.

Both of you are correct that is by far the worst i've ever seen.

I was on the rec playing with aido and the smallies lot, dunno what they were called at the time, it went pitch black n hoyed down, everyone just sprinted off the pitch.

I was living at king oswy still back then with the parents n a few of us in the car struggled to get home as all the round abouts n roads were flooded.

It was like that up here in Newcastle yesterday, only lasted a bit longer!

I left work about quarter to five and, via routes and side roads around Byker and Wallsend that I didn't even know existed, managed to get home just after half 9. Loads of closed roads and floating cars!

I was fortunate that I was in the car the whole time, so I feel sorry for Mr Fireball if he was out and about having to walk around in it.

Rememeber that Sunday well was over Acklam for a Football Tournament. It got abandoned and when we came into town it looked like a war zone with trees snapped all over the place.. It was that bad the covers floated off the square a Seaton Carew!

By the way its steaming hot over here in Denmark!
