Didn't they say Torres gets it because he had the least minutes on the pitch from the players that finished on the same goals....

Torres got it on assists Nowt to do with minutes.

Also topscorer is the golden boot so i would expect bookies to only pay out on Torres

Same thing happened in last world cup with muller getting it because he had more assists than forlan and bookies only payed on muller

Germany's Thomas Müller has won the Golden Boot after finishing as the World Cup 2010 top scorer and has also been named as the young player of the tournament.

The Germany attacker claimed the accolade after Holland's Wesley Sneijder and Spain's David Villa failed to hit the net during Spain's famous 1-0 win at the football City stadium.

The 20 year-old German starlet was also named Young Player of the World Cup, capping an incredible tournament in South Africa, having scored five goals from just five shots on target.

Müller's three assists put him ahead of other players on five goals, with Diego Forlan of Uruguay, Wesley Sneijder of Holland and David Villa of Spain missing out on the Golden Boot trophy.

With the tournament boasting a host of star attacking players, few would have predicted that Müller would have such a big impact on football's biggest stage.

The German youngster plays his club football for Bayern Munich and was a leading figure in Germany's under-21 set-up before being called up to the senior squad for a friendly against Argentina in March.

Müller has just made just eight international appearances, with all of his international goals coming at the World Cup. He becomes the second successive German player to win the award, after Miroslav Klose claimed the accolade at the 2006 World Cup.

Well coral would only pay on muller in 2010 if your brain can handle that

Other bookies might do a 5 way chop but as I said originally i doubt it. If I'm wrong who really cares. It's hardly talking ' utter horseshit' is it.

But carry on anyways it's been a while......

I agree with chip on this

no goalscorer and 0-0, even though they are the same result they are 2 different bets

Was won due to playing fewer minutes than gomez.

Sorry Mr Verbal but you can completely disregard everything said by Mr Birthmark, as usual it's complete and utter horsesh1t.

In betting terms top goalscorer in the tournament is exactly that, top goalscorer in the tournament. IT IS 100% DEFFO NOT the same as to win the Golden Boot.

If it was the Ladbrokes fiver for every goal thing then I'm pretty sure you have backed him to be top scorer, and its a dead heat with every other player that scored 3 goals.

According to BBC Torres and Muller both had three goals and an assist, but Torres got Golden Boot due to the fact he spent less minutes on the pitch. Dunno if thats true but thats 100 per cent what Lawrenson said.

Torres and gomez?

If it is top goalscorer then they will have to pay out on everyone who had 3 goals. I reckon they will only pay out once and that be on Torres for winning boot

Only a fool would take 0-0 when you can have no goalscorer, 4 own goals in a 2 all draw and you win.

Not really arsed to be honest was only trying to help, chip came in being his usual arrogant knobish self.

Good luck with ya bet

Did gomez and Torres have equal assists then, beating ballotelli and the Russian guy and whoever else had 3.

Just read chips t and c and maybe I'm blind but were does it say what happens if there's a tie, I don't see how that's proof all will be paid and not just Torres.

Generally the 'topscorer' wins the golden boot.

However chip obviously you are correct and will have a lob on tomorrow and I won't simply give a shit

Night night

I'm sorry but this is not correct. I had money on forlan with coral and they paid out. If the coral you bet on would only pay out on muller then you have been done over. As chip has stated at the start of the tournament the bookies offer odds on top goalscorer, doubt they would offer golden boot.

The way in which it works out in the event of a tie (6 players this euro 2012) is the dead heat rule is applied. Your stake is divided by however many winners of the bet there are and paid out at full odds. this ensures the bookies don't lose money by paying out all winners. It also stops them losing money from the golden boot being decided by alternative means (for example torres and gomez having an assist but torres playing less minutes). if you take gomez (8/1 pre tournament) and torres (around 14/1 pre tournament) then the bookies wouldn't let themselves be exposed for the extra money they would pay out because of torres winning by means other than goals

hope this clears anybody's queries up and isn't taken in a cocky and arrogant way

The bet I had in 2010 was David villa/Spain In a combo. They wouldn't pay me because of the assists by muller. Now I'm quite certain the coupen said topscorer/winners. I argued but to no avail.

If you were paid out on forlan well done.

No I dont think you are being arrogant, you didn't quote me saying I was talking utter horseshit and to disregard everything I said.

It's strange how people can try and help someone and others feel the need to try and have a go. These people are a waste of fresh air

Not checked Corals, but Bet365 are paying out on top goalscorer, not golden boot. Dead heat rules apply so any winning bet on that market with them would result in the punters stake being split between all those with three goals, ie a £5 bet would be £1 on each if five players scored three goals. Assists, goal minutes etc do not apply.

Just had a quick look on Corals results page and for outright top goalscorer they are saying there was no winner in this market. Looks like they might be voiding all top goalscorer bets.

Just to put this to bed i phoned Ladbrokes and Torres was top scorer along with 5 others so my £20 stake is divided by 6

So thats £3.33 going on a 14/1 bet

Simples really now you 2 stop bitching with each and be best of friends

That's probably illegal

It's either Torres or all 6

Surely they have to pay out on 1 of those outcomes , saying that coral have had me right over in the past so wouldn't surprise me

You more than doubled your money, plus in 2 days time you will have £15 in free bets. Not the result you were hoping for I suspect mate, but still better than a kick in the puds, and probably a decent result given the situation with 10 minutes to go.

Over the moon mate like you said i wasnt really in with a shout while he was sat on the bench banghead

If only he had took that chance at the end instead of laying it off  but never mind im up
