The letters against the mill house programme are starting. Comments in letter page tonight stating we are all not Hartlepool United fans.

What does the letter say for us that dont live in the town and cant get the mail?

Well I'll be blown, not everyone is Hartlepool fan in the town! What a revelation the next thing they'll do is tell us not everyone votes labour and not everyone in the town wants someone to invest money in making it a nicer place to live and a place where there might be jobs for our kids to do if they want to earn a living in the future.

Honestly some of the backwards people in this town need to look at the bigger picture, this isn't about the football club and who does or doesn't support it.

The issue is about being able to transform a run down area into somewhere to be proud of versus having a council who continue to own a run down are and collect less than they pay to 10 councillors in allowances per year as rent from the current tenant. Unless they have a bunch of companies knocking on their door offering millions for the site why would the council keep ownership? The land is officially valued at £625,000 given the precedent set by the sale of Rockhaven and the Municipal buildings surely another company that benefits the town could be given a similar level of discount on the purchase of their home.

Investment, pride in the town and opportunity both for employment and to raise aspirations is what this town needs, what it doesn't need is people who see the bad side of everything and hate progress.
