In the Northern League with a load of debt, they should have started again now they are stuck. I feel for the few fans they have left.

So the Trust were right after all.

So they paid money for the club name and effectively bought (yes bought) the club debt and are relegated to the Northern league.

I'd call that a result.

Ooof. If it's NLD2, which it could well be, they will be playing Horden CW.

You have to admire their tenacity but it's an odd sort of deal to have agreed to. sctatchinghead

I mean, where's the cash going to come from to pay the debts they've acquired for a hefty payment?? Over the next three years they need to earn at least 340 grand before they even get on the pitch. How much can you charge for admittance at that sort of level. Say seven snodgers ((c)Mutley), that's approx 50,000 attendance over about 70 home games, meaning not less than a crowd of 700 just to service the debt and rents.

How are they going to pay the players, buy strips and all the other minutiae that go with having a football club??

Oh yeah, the telly money....... :-D

I don't want to revel in others pain, but you have to point and laugh at the numpties who have managed to buy debt and a name then have wound up hardly any better off than they would have by starting again with a slightly different name, no debt and a few quid in the bank.

They'll be lucky to ever get back to the Conference, let alone the league.

It does appear to be a stroke of genius, a masterclass of business acumen.

I hear Alan Sugar has decided that the apprentice won't exist next year as the DFC1883 board would piss it if they entered, and Dragons Den is having a rethink of their structure and instead of Millionaires investing their own money they plan to get oaps to hand over their life savings and then they'll let a bunch of monkeys and Nick Leeson decide how to invest it.

As I say, the bloke in charge has a son who is lower than a snakes belly. For those that don't know the story, the man in charge of DFC1883 is called Dennis Pinnegar. His Son, Anthony Pinnegar, worked for one of those "Mystery Shopper" companies.

A few years ago, they "Mystery Shopped" us here at Portakabin. Now we always score REALLY highly on these things, they do one every few years and we've always had top marks. This time however, we got "average" marks.

A few months later, that nice chap Hopps (DJNo7) set up his own meaasageboard, Loidland.com, which of course none of us could join or even view. Mr Pinnegar, in his wisdom, decided to brag on that messageboard about how he "set Phil Dunn up" and gave us not-so-great marks purely becuase I was a Poolie.

Sadly, the board suddenly became viewable one day.

Cue end-of-business between Mystery Shopping Company and one of the North's biggest privately-owned businesses.

Snakes Belly <

And people wonder why I have the odd chuckle at the Loids...

yep... or we will have to cut our cloth accordingly for Blue Square North or Blue Square Premier at best....... there are folks out there who revel in being able to do this sort of thing. We need to overcome them

Oh dear, they're already starting the "We're a big fish in a little pond" rubbish on Uncovered, regarding the fact that they are now a Northern League side one of their numpties has stated that "This is potentially the biggest payday the Northern League's ever had". Why would that be ? Oh yes, of course, it's because they've inherited a team with no players, no manager, no ground and no money. People are bound to flock to see them, what an attraction, why didn't I see it.
