Weak as piss, second to nearly every loose ball and clueless.
One bright spot was the young lad though he should have buried that one on one.

seriously though - how the fuck did we lose that? Cos they were dire
Whichever way you look at it, 7 blanks in the last 10 is very worrying.
Chip is correct in his assertion about the players.
The same old treading water players must be shifted out and Hodcroft must have NO say in who stays.
Cooper should give him his list of who he wants and who needs to go

The list of players making an exit needs to include Liddle, Austin, Humphreys, Monkhouse, Boyd, Luscombe, Nish, Haslam, Solano for starters

Sweeney may just scrape in as a squad player, but to say his control and touch tonight was like a rapist, would be an insult to rapists everywhere

Why keep playing the long ball when their big centre half was winning everything in the air

Nish will make no difference to Pools lack of goals next season - so get rid, it's just my opinion of him

How much are we missing Luke James and James Brown? On Liddle I think he should be tried as a right back - Austin was back to his poor early season form tonight and unless we play 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 there just isn't a place in the team for Sweeney. He might have been ok when we had exceptional creative strikers in Boyd & Porter but that was a long time ago. I just don't think he is good enough to play in a 4 man midfield if we have ambition of finishing in the top 10 in League One.

Yes, I sometimes get it right. People said I was talking crap back in January. Here's what I said. Wasn't far wrong.

I standby what I said here :

http://www.monkeybizz.net/

and in particular this paragraph :

Cooper is certainly one of my all time Poolie heroes, and while part of me is excited he took over, and relieved it wasn't David Penney, I'm also very aware of just how lacking in depth and quality the squad is, and just how hard it will be just to match what Wadsworth was getting out of them, never mind better

As it stands since Wadsworth left we have picked up 11 points from 9 games, and under Cooper I think 8 from 6. So essentially the same points per game ratio. We have moved up 2 places in the table, largely due to the fact we played on both Saturdays when a lot of other teams in the league didnt due to F.A. Cup games.

Todays performance was impressive, but already it is generating hyperbole about promotion that may prove unrealistic. This squad have history let us not forget. After Turners departure last season they put a nice run together.

The same happened on the run up to Christmas, we put the cleaners through Peterboro and Brighton at home, and Huddersfield and Bournemouth away, all top sides at the time. Indeed after the 4-2 home win over Oldham on New Years Day we went 7th. Then came the slump.

The same at the record breaking start of this season, 9 games unbeaten, in the play off spots, then slump.

Nobody questions that this squad can put together runs of 7 or 8 games where they look magnificent. The problem is that they cannot do it consistently for 20 or 30 games, players lose form with alarming regularity, we get one or two injuries and the whole thing falls apart. Therin lies the challenge for Cooper, finding a way to get the squad performing consistently over long periods.

We won FIVE games in a row earlier this season, 3 of them away from home. People started proclaiming Wadsworth God and the team play off contenders: we lost 5 of the next 6 and played appallingly.

I have never said it is impossible, or even improbable, simply that it will be hard.

People said I was talking crap this time last year too! but here we are again in danger of finishing in the bottom six.

First half wasn't bad, second half was dire. I honestly felt myself nodding off 10 minutes from the end.

Wadsworth got sacked for knocking 1500 off the attendance, its up to 1700 staying away now.

I think 9 successive home defeats had more to do with it that the drop in attendance.

It was a performance from the days of the nine consecutive home defeats, give away a soft goal and spend the rest of the game knowing we will never score.
