Just wondered if we could keep a thread going for best players etc. Played this for years, started my career on a Spectrum and kept going.

Heres my tips so far- played 7 with Pools, won 4, drew 1 lost 2.

Top signing Jamil Adam-unattached, used with with Barnsley- 7 appearances 9 goals-to hat tricks- Boydy has 5 in 7.

James Tavernier at right back-1 goal, 3 assists in 5 games on season loan from Newcastle.

Early days yet-fourth in L1 and spanked Charlton 5-2 after going 2 down with 3 from Jamil Adam- could this be a omen for Saturday??

brandy, if you can get him before oldham, quality league 1 striker.

jason banton, good winger formally of liverpool, blackburn and arsenal. Turned into england international on last game.

Michael Woods - good centre mid will only sign for you in about october once he realises no one else wants him.

I started as pools as i always do and i was terrible, sacked by december 31st, got the swindon job 2 days later n have now got them up to 2nd, brought monkhouse with me. Take that pools!

Good one mate-once game is saved steam saves etc and then loads up quicker than before-I think the huge database and 3d is slowing me up but....I'll keep it going...

Get Jamil Adam and see what you think-a grand or so a week gets him. Also just taken Curtis Main from the Boro for the season and no wages-after Halliday from boro but "has no intention of going to Pools!"

I'm in mid november and 3rd with pools, brought in Nathan Baker (centre half) from Aston Villa, Alex Nimely (striker) from Man City and signed a centre midfielder called Michael Stewart who is probably my best player also Brown has bagged about 10 already

How do you get the pictures of the ground in the background?

I used to love that about the old school Championship Manager games!

Aye sign Brandy, sign Michael Stewart on a free as well, use him as a creative midfielder.

Put Browny on the right wing as an inside forward, he gets about a goal a game for me there.

Flog Collins, pop Liddle in defence, Sign yourself a new left back, Horwoods decent but not up to the job.

Replace most of your team when you hit the Championship as well, The only original Pools players I have are Austin and Flinders, and Austins on the bench.

the short version is go to your c drive, documents, sports interactive, fm12...

then create a file called graphics

create files within that for backgrounds, kits, skins, faces etc etc

google all the pictures or go to fm base, sortitoutsi.net or the sports interactive forum and pimp your game up till your hearts content.

and then it should look summit like this...

He probably didn't fit with my playing style. I just relied on Brandy and Brown for goals in my first season and stuck Nish in as a target man. Donny got relegated as well so I managed to sell Browny for 600k and get hold of Billy Sharp for near nowt. He's costimg me a fortune in wages but the man's a feckin goal machine.

Just bought the full version today. Yubep is bang on the money with Michael Woods, unfortunately as Plymouth I couldn't get him. Not really a player tip, but if you use 'Assertive' and then the 'I completely believe you've got what it takes one' it always gives a positive reaction. Really useful at half-time when you're 2-0 down to Cheltenham, realised Warren Feeney is shite, slow one-footed and you should have sold him
rage rage

But Curtis Nelson for Plymouth is phenomenal, 19, could play in League One already

Oh, forgot the most important thing, get the best scouts possible, aim for around 15CA/PA, if they're obscure you'll get em for a pittance. Then get your scouting range expanded, they'll tell you to fuck off unless your job's very secure like.

Your scouts'll find you some excellent european players that you can get for pennies, and every now and then they'll turn up with a phenominal regen. In 2011, one of them found a 16 year old lad with the best physical stats I've ever seen, they were all over 10 and his pace and acceleration was 20, got the wee bastard for about 275k and he was in my first team for the rest of his career.

Scoutings the way forward, it makes the game piss easy.

Looking at my save game, Kelly Youga is superb at left back in League One, and that Portugese lad is Esamel Goncalvez, not sure if you'll be able to pick him up during your first season, but you can get him on a Bosman in your second.

Oh, this may sound evil but if you need to trim a couple of grand off your wage budget you can always just sack the entire youth team.

Unless your rich enough to finance a decent recruiting network, and get decent facilities, they're bloody useless anyway.

Plus, if you can afford a decent youth system, chances are you'll have a reasonable wage budget to start with.

Must admit, it's my first time getting Football Manager on the PC, always been a FIFA Manager man myself, 1 hour on the demo of FM12 showed me the folly of my ways. So can anyone help me with the editor? I've downloaded it from steam yet whenever I don't know how to use it. I clicked 'Load Database' but it just showed everything as empty. I Googled it but I didn't have much luck

i would suggest that you package your console and ALL football related games up in a black bag and throw them up the fookin garden. then go and open your bedroom window to let some fresh air in. then actually go outside, talk to some girls and GET A BASTAD LIFE

The internet...usually on your favourite torrent site, cost=FREE!!!

My question....is it worth getting?? I have FM2011 so is this an improved game or is it just more up to date stats??

For nowt, Vervalle, Invincible, Brandy, think Steffanuto's on a free in your second season as is Sodje.

Plus, if you see a player in a Premier League reserve team thats valued at something like £60k, they might well give you him for nowt. Worth a punt.
