Sheff wed had alot of possession and at times look like strolling this fixture but flinders and Hartley had other ideas. As the 1st half progressed we got more and more into the game and at half time I was over the moon with the effort the players put in.

2nd half, well hartleys header was a perfect start and we began the 2nd half as we ended the 1st. That goal however was a kick up the arse to them and they began to dominate. The equaliser was shambolic with horwood showing the strength of a kitten and Johnson finished with quality. We then seemed to be happy with a point and seemed to not have a go. There 2nd was a disgrace, Collins ( I think) had time in the box and mis cleared a ball straight to there striker who slammed home the ball to which 1 of there fans turned into Tom Daley and seemed to dive off the terraces 20f to the floor. He seemed in a bad way and hopefully he pulls through. Then they looked like getting a 3rd but we defended well and flinders was in fine form. Then...... A long ball over the top wasnt dealt with and from 30 yards Sweeney spots there keeper off his line and lobs him with a stunning volley which sent our blue and White army delirious. Fine way to
End a great game.

Flinders - 9 outstanding performance and we have him to thank for the point
Austin- 5 made a few mistakes but 2nd half was better
Hartley - 8 great display and his diving challenge I'm stoppage time was world class
Collins - 5 slow but solid until huge mistake for there 2nd
Horwood - 3 terrible game, was ripped apart over and over by there winger
Haslam - 6 same old performance, just does what he has to
Murray - 8 made 1 mistake when Austin dropped him in it but was outstanding. Thwarted them over and over and ran his legs off
Monkhouse - 6 won alot of headers and gave a disciplined performance
Liddle - 6 played well and was involved in all our attacks
Sweeney - 7 played well and goal was world class
James - 6 ran his legs off but struggled against a good defence

Humps -5 came on and played ok in defensive midfield
Brown - 5 came on and did ok

james was a 7 played some good stuff on right. I thought it was Hartley who made mistake for second. Horewood was shocking.

Didnt see there fan do a swan dive like

Good report RB - Cooper said on the radio in his interview that it was Hartley's poor clearence that led to their second goal. From the radio it also sounded like Sweeney's goal was pretty awesome.

It seems that our weak areas consistently seem to be the full backs, maybe it's time to give Austin and/or Horwood a bit of a break from the first XI...?

It was definitely Hartley who made the mis-clearance and that's very harsh on Horwood. He got beaten twice by their right-winger after an efficient first half. I'd give him a 5.

.....and Horwood set up our opening goal. Give him a 6.

Horwood was awful. I'd say on 8 occasions there winger beat him. The goal was embarrassing. He had a very bad game

Ivan Ashe said that Horwood lacked strength on a couple of occasions but Sheff Wed were portrayed as if they were land of the giants - although I seem to remember them being quite big at the vic earlier this season.....
