The longest journey following Pools.
If you're chalking off the 92 league clubs you can record your visit to St James' Park here http://www.weevl.com/eflg

While you are at it why not vote for your man of the match against Exeter (or any of the other games this season).

Plymouth is the best part of an hour, at least 45 minutes, past Exeter; a further 50-odd miles!

Swansea is also as far away as Exeter, next to nothing in it in terms of mileage from the town

If we are including Plymouth and Torquay then we might as well include that long trip to River Plate.

I didn't need to check those, so what is your point?

The original post said about the longest journey following Pools and ticking off the 92 league grounds. Now pardon me for not checking elsewhere, but last time I looked Plymouth and Torquay were both in the 92 current league clubs but River Plate weren't.

I think its pretty obvious the original poster meant longest journey this season. Still you could be a pedantic twat about it I suppose if thats what gets you through the day.

It certainly helps, the only question is whether or not I should go into full pedant mode and question why your post lacks apostrophes?

The original post mentions all 92 clubs and as all 92 clubs are not in the same league, and we can't therefore play them all in a season then that implies what other's are thinking. He meant the longest trip for Pools this season. HTH. So it can't mean this season otherwise he would have put the longest trip of the 23 grounds Pools fans will visit this season.

And of course River Plate would not be one of the 92 grounds.

I once went to Plymouth on the Corner Flag coach around 2001 for a 12pm kick off. Left Hartlepool at 2am and got to Plymouth around 11am, never again.

I was there that day too, cracking game, watched England on telly in the Mount Pleasant on the afternoon then down Union Street on the lash.

2-0 win I think (Lormor and Miller)?

England game straight after it, think that was a 2-0 win as well.

Cardiff seemed forever to get too, Hereford few year back in the FA Cup seemed long aswell!

We won that Plymouth game 2-0 didn't we? Then I'm sure it was Greece that England played. Watched it in the Roundabout pub in Plymouth, is that still there?

Had a mate at Uni down there so went out a few times. Always thought the nightlife was pretty average compared to other cities

After Plymouth game and England game it was Germany v Albania, (same qualifying group) they even made it 1-1 against the Krauts before losing to something like an 88th minute Klose goal.

stayed in the same dodgy B&B twice in Plymouth overlooking the Hoe, I got a pokey attic room the first time then the dungeon room below street level the second time!!! Kept me out of sight from the other guests I suppose
Needless to say I won't be staying there again
