Normally like it when a smaller club goes into the Premier League and rustles a few feathers but have got zilch time for the Swans.

On trips there the home end would spend more time goading the away end and singing anti English songs.............so fck em!

they are more pro- British than Cardiff will ever be. They take St George flags and Union flags to games against Cardiff to wind them up. The hatred between those two far outstrips any anti-English sentiment.
I know a few Swansea lads and they are full of respect for people who follow lower league clubs. When you tell anyone down there you support Hartlepool, most replies are along the lines of, "A proper club"

also Hartlepool, and many English clubs' fans in general, seem to always sing Eng-er-land and anti Welsh songs without fail whenever there's a match against Wrexham, Cardiff or Swansea.
It's only Cardiff I can't stand, but that's not only because I have mates who support the other two

I've got no doubt they have decent fans in amongst the thousands of morons that seem to shout loudest. Still hate em though!

they've been in the league since the league was an embryo so it's an invalid argument

If football was just starting out today they wouldn't be allowed

I dont care how long they have been in the league. They are welsh, and proud of it. If they were THAT proud they would want to play in the welsh league. Maybe they arent proud of being welsh really?

have a look at the message boards and what most of them say about the anti-English chanting. Most of them are dead against it for obvious reasons, along with the fact that most of their players tend to be English anyway and the effect it might be having on them. But it's a two way street - English fans never miss an opportunity to do likewise.

Also, Wales is a principality of England, so as such they are entitled to be part of the English pyramid if you want to go down that route!!!

me mam and her brothers and me grandad are Carmarthen natives, but me mam's mam was from West and spent some time In Winterton hospital.
Me dad's family all belong old Hartlepool

This is why I'm completely fucked up and irrational, and will probably make national news headlines one day

They might be welsh but the football they play is superb. Out passed arsenal and there arnt many sides that do that. I'd rather see them play than Bolton or wigan. Good luck to them

there's another 20 clubs with worse fans' reputations than Swansea !!!!

Man United are probably the worst!!!! The entire movement of hooliganism is mainly because of them in the first place

It's not the violence, it's their behaviour in the ground. They clearly hate anyone who is in the away end so I'm not going to reciprocate by admiring them because they pass the ball around a bit.

I'd take Swansea over Leeds any day. I do hope the people that are so concerned about anti English songs are not the same people who like to sing about sheep shagging. Anyway Swansea will always be a part of Poolie history for the events of May 1968.

Indeed Mr Splod, and for the 7-1 at home, which was the first game I took my Man City supporting mate to, who subsequently became a fervent Poolie.

As long as I was driving. sadx

I remember, way back, singing "you can stick your yorkshire puddings up your arse", at Rochdale fans.

Oh yes we did. :uhoh:

me too. unlike the vetch where you were nicely segregated by the streets around the ground, we had to walk through the swans fans trying to stop smirking on the way back to the car.

i was watching some old homemovie stuff of the kids last night and it was interrupted by a welsh clip of swansea getting beaten at pools 4-2. nice. march98 according to inthemadcrowd, halliday lee and beech scorers - vic looks deserted, only 1727 :(

not a fan as such, but have always preferred the jacks to the bluebirds. good luck to them staying up for an extended run in the top league. cardiff on the otherhand can keep on falling at the last hurdle forever and a day.
