Are we still registered in the british virgin island. I am aware when IOR first took over they done this so foreign players could pay lower taxes.

It looks dodgy but almost all businesses that operate internationally get pretty adept at spotting which country's laws relating to company structures suit them best. I do a lot of work for a very large company that is always referred to as being French and German but it is actually registered in Holland because Dutch law allowed the structures and guarantees that the different investors wanted when the company was formed.

On the other hand, the British Virgin Islands have remarkably liberal tax laws but if the money ends up at Pools instead I can live with that.

I've spent my entire working life as an accountant in the offshore finance industry. Not wanting to seem arrogant, but I reckon that I know a little bit more than most of you on this subject.

Believe me, there is absolutely nothing 'dodgy' or 'foggy' about structuring a multinational group in this way. I come across structures like this everyday and even work for one - I'm a director of our group services company based here in Guernsey which I set up specifically to employ all our group staff in every jurisdiction around the world as well as be the lessor of all our group offices.

If anything, it shows how professionally Pools is run.
