Been the Doctors and he said I was Flat Footed!!!!

And I've got Athlete's Foot....I wouldn't have minded if it Colin Jackson's....but apparently I'm not so lucky....I've got Tony Morrell's!!!!

Nah....he was a hero of mine when I was a kid....Tony's a real gentleman....loved it how he took everything in his stride and didn't want to get too big headed....was always willing to let others come first....and second....and....etc etc!!!!

As sharp as a razor he is....nothing gets past him....well apart from other runners!!!! confised

He done a Trolley Dash in Poundland....£4 he took home....he got some Goose fat, a Tin of Sardines in Tomato Sauce, Tin of Sunsilk Hairspray and a book all about Irish Wolfhounds!!!!

He was once on Beadle's About when he got set up....Jeremy got Duncan Norvelle to burgal his house!!!!

Anyway Tony had just finished his job as a Postman at 6.30pm and he seen Duncan coming out of his house with his Trophys....6 Cans....Duncan shouted....

'CHASE ME'!!!! :shock:

Duncan Norvell gave up when he got to The Fens....Tony gave up when he got to Shrewsbury Street!!!! sadx

But he took it on the chin cos he's a good sport....but the week after he realised they were totally taking the piss when Don Brennan came running out of his house with Betamax Video Recorder....he wasn't falling for that again so he called the Police!!!!

Don Brennan got 12 month for it....Jeremy Beadle said....'I had feck all to do with it your honour'....and got away scott free!!!! :coool:

Because of that Don Brennan got killed off in Coronation Street and was never to 'walk' those cobbles again....all because of Tony Morrell and Jeremy Beadle!!!! sadx

I read all the above in Don's Autobiography....'Poison Ivy, The Ginger Tvvat & Little Big Hand....Life On The Street'!!!! :coool:

It's a cracking read and you learn all sorts about Corrie....like this....

Albert Tatlock....the bloke who wrote the scripts....and founder of Len Fairclough Bubble Bath....from 1869 to 1997 originally wanted to call it 'Sandsend Crescent'....but he got overuled by a young Nick Tilsley who wanted to call it 'Home & Away'....who in turn got overuled by the town of Corby....they had a Newspaper Poll for the readers and Coronation Street won....but only by 6 votes....Whooping Cough Lane came second!!!! sadx

Another thing....the Cat you see in the opening credits isn't the same one from the early days in 1869....in fact they've had loads but they keep running away!!!! rage

The one you see on the current opening credits belongs to Jean Alexander in real life....better known as Percy Sugden....to stop the cat running away....BTW it's called 'Len'....they've stapled it to Jack Duckworth's shed....with staples and Duck tape....and to make doubly sure that it stays....they've also celloptaped one of Curly's pet Limpets to it's tail....if you look closely you can see it!!!! :coool:

I learnt allsorts reading Brennan's book....he actually got an arm amputated before he went for an audition to play Des Barne's 8 year old son but he never got the part sadly....that part went to Fred Elliott!!!!

But his luck changed in 1932 when Don Brennan landed the part of Don Brennan....and in an amazing coincedence his brother....Don Shanks....made his debut for QPR 26 years later and never scored!!!!

Don Brennan got killed off in 1976 when he got caught fiddling his Gas Meter and nicking Hay from a Farm in nearby Emmerdale....he cleared a full barn out and had a Gas Meter full of Frescho Trolley tokens....that was the final straw for the Producers....they sacked him on the spot....the same spot that Brian Tilsley first met Gail!!!!

In my eyes they treat him like shite....made him chop his own leg off Xmas 85....turned gay 6 months later....got sacked from Kevin's Garage for actually working on a car....had to go to Church every fecking week with his gay Lover Ivy....was Best Man for his Grandson Baby David but cos he was sacked they got Jeremy Beadle to play Don and to twist the knife in further Tony Morrell played baby David's 13 year old bewer!!!!

One final knife in the back for Don was when Corrie celebrated it's 184th Birthday and he never got an invite....all stars past and present were present....even the ones who'd died turned up....the local council gave Tony Hatch the permission to exume them....remember that Goose that got ran over one Xmas....sat at the top table it was....all 16 people who've played Nick Tilsely were there....including the 15 who can't even act....understandably Brennan was mirthed about this and was going to do a protest outside the Sydney Studios where Albion Market was filimed but got talked out of it by a passing stranger....later found out to be Sandy out of Grease!!!!

Sadly Don Brennan commited suicide in 1952....the year of Queen's first Top Ten....he suffocated himself under a Collander....the Coroner....in another twist of fate was Jeremy Beadle's younger brother Dr.Tweadle....recorded a verdict of death by Collander Suffocation and then winked to passing motorists outside his Bungalow!!!!

What a sad life he led....but his book is not all doom and gloom....he tells the story when he could finally join in Apparatus at school....his mam found a slipper and a welly in a skip....he finally had his Appartaus gear....and after he lost his long he'd take turns wearing the slipper and the welly on his good leg/foot....he was buried with both in acemetry in the little village of the North of England....no-one knows for sure cos no-one turned up....but R.I.P.Don Brennan....your story has certainly made me feel better!!!! :coool:

BTW....in the making of the above post I asked Don Brennan's two kids....Fairyclough and Schmeciael....who outsurvived him by a good number of years if they would like to contribute to the above post....

They told me to feck-off!!!! sadx

Didn't Tony Morrell live near the greensides,if Norvelle was running towards the Fens,why did Morrell run towards Shrewbury St. Totally the wrong way.:):)

I'm not surprised Tony Morrell wasn't world class he used to run the wrong way,didn't the track marshalls point it out to him.
