I went into William Hill today to place a bet on Hartlepool remaining undefeated for the rest of the season but I've had no luck as they won't take the bet. Can anyone shine some light on the bookies they used to place the bet, and if it's possible to place the bet online? I heard odds of 33-1.

Cheers

Apparently it’s only 20/1 now, knocked it down from 33’s after the Boston game.

Hope you’re in the money come the end of the season Mutts!!!

I'm not great with maths but does that not overstate the challenge we faced at boston?

Myself and two other had a combined bet of £40 at 33/1 on Pools to be unbeaten. I did advise people of this on here last week. Betfred offered the odds.

I tried to put a bet on last week, by opening a online account, by the time I got it open it was after 3 on Saturday, and the bet had dissapeared. When I last looked it was still missing. I had assumed they had dropped it because too much was being bet, and they had realised their mistake rage

The bookies certainly don’t hang about, any run of form (or dip) and the odds change accordingly. They don’t take many chances.

Look at the link below. It shows the prices that all the major bookmakers have quoted throughout the season for Hartlepool United to win the division two championship.

I believe 11/8 is the biggest on offer at the moment, but, if you scroll down to the first week in November -when Pools were at they’re lowest point- you’ll find some very tasty quotes indeed. Mind you, given our form at the time I don’t believe the bookies will have been crushed under the stampede from Joe punter.

Obviously this league is far from won, everything is still to play for with quite a few sides (including Walsall  ) still holding Championship aspirations , but imagine you’d took the 66/1 on offer at extrabet, lets say £20, alright you’d have been ridiculed and declared mad at the time, but right now you’d be getting more than a tad excited.

I took us at 18/1 with a 4 point handicap at the start of the season.

What does that mean?

I understand the 18/1, but what is the handicap?

I think that you give all of the other teams a 4 point head start so in order to win the bet we have to win the league by 5 points or more, could be wrong though
