I research Maltese buses. I have hundreds of photos, die cast models and memorabillia, (incl servicing documents). My last foray was a drive to Sliema to pick up a diff for a 1958 Scammell.

Now I've got two little 'uns I don't have much time to meself. I still play five a side once a week, take my oldest swimming once a week, and get to the odd beer festival. I've also got an allotment although our lass spends more time on it than I do.

In the years BC (Before Children), I used to edit Monkey Business, play snooker once a week, and I used to love travelling round the country to visit stone circles.

Poolieinnottingham have you ever seen Julian Copes book "The Modern Antiquarian" it covers over 300 prehistoric sites, standing stones, circles, fogous, barrows etc.

Its by the late 70's, 80's singer. He brought it out after doing a tv program where he filmed himself driving around Britain visiting loads of sights. The program was really great, (if a little crusty/ageing hippyish) and the book is very accessable and well worth a look.

It only came out in hardback, so might be worth telling the library to get it in, to save money.

It adds something to away game trips as it covers all areas.

Going around the country I live in (not allowed to say) and learning about it's development and recent history, mainly over the last sixty years. Also learning it's language.

It's a nightmare learning a tonal, abstract language at my age...... sadx

I was in Avebury last month; did half the Wiltshire half of the Ridgeway and therefore saw a fair few prehistoric sites.

Now I'm a parent, I do a lot less walking than I used to do. In fact, I've very little time to myself now.

Watching live bands,I try to see at least one a week ranging from a local band in the pub to Leonard Cohen/Bruce Springsteen in massive arenas.
Ironically though I probably listen to less recorded music now than I ever have

Im also a big darts lover, watch pretty much every televised game & used to go to tournaments before it turned into a popular stag night type event.
I used to play & was a reasonable pub league player but these days struggle to manage half an hour because of my dodgy legs.

cycling, which I do less of these days due to family commitments.
in 2009 I did over 3000 miles on my mountain bike, and even then I only went out about half of the time I could have!! Regularly did anything between 30-50 miles a day when I did go out on my days off
I do maybe 20-30 miles maximum at a time now, roughly once a week, as I can't go too far from the home in case I'm needed back relatively quickly

I've got this book, and its a great introduction to prehistoric monuments, if a bit 'spaced out' in parts. Janet/Colin Bord hvae written a number of books which are a bit more descriptive and less 'spiritual, man'.

I've also got Cope's 'Megalithic European' which features loads of sites in Ireland, which I had planned to visit before I fertilised our lass.

Me and our lass have been all over to visit sites, mainly Cornwall and Scotland. We even had our honeymoon in Aberdeen as there's loads of them up there.

I'm not a religious or superstitious person by any stretch but there is definitely an odd feeling you get at some of the sites. I've had electric shocks off stones, and warmed my hands up on them in the middle of winter. There are a few theories about them originally being set where they are because of strong magnetic fields, which would explain a lot.

There's still loads I haven't been to yet, number one on the list being Callanish on Lewis. I've read loads about it and it looks ellish.

Fell walking for me, love it being out on the mountains and hills for hours on end. The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Scotland and Snowdonia are my usual haunts but don't get out any where near as much as i'd like. Once a month if i'm lucky.

Three kids keep me busy with their Gymnastics at the Hartlepool Gymnastics Club 3 days a week, but we love camping holidays too so get the family out with the tent as often as possible.

Listening to music and going to gigs too.

carp fishing. its more an obsession than a hobby. it dominates my every waking hour.

when i'm not fishing, i run a sunday morning football team that's more successful than Yubep's, and read everything i can get my hands on.

(my daughter goes to the gymnastics club too, but i get too scared watching her throwing herself over bits of wood)

Collect old cook books and spend potty time reading up on them.

Used to do a lot of Quumphing, which most of you will know is the art of saddle sniffing, leather ones are the best as the synthethic type do not retain the aromatics

Had trials at Leeds and Newcastle never got a chance so took up coaching and started a club from scratch. Sherburn FC Since they were U7 now U12 http://sherburnfc.webs.com/ Loved every minute of it, hoping to take them to adult football and play in the same team I coached over the years, would be a dream.

Also a mad week in Magaluf every year, great hobbie
