Wouldn't it be poetic justice if five things happened this season (and it is entirely possible):

1) Pools to win their first-ever trophy
2) Darlo to lose in the play-offs
3) Boston to go down after cheating their way up
4) Rotherham to go down after cheating us last season
5) Chesterfield to go down after cheating

It would also be ironic if Dagenham replaced Boston.

....and Port Vale to get relegated, after their constant gloating when we got relegated, accusing us and Swindon of denying them their 'rightful' play off place

Nightmare scenario:

1) Pools have a mini-wobble in tough games against Stockport, Lincoln and Darlo; recover well but finish 4th behind Swindon, Walsall and Stockport. Boston stay up.

2) Darlo continue great run and snatch 6th spot.

3) Pools ease past MK in playoff semi; Darlo beat Lincoln

4) Darlo recover from two goals down to destroy Pools 5-2 live on TV in the playoff final. Barker misses penalty, Nelson scores own goal, Liddle and Brown sent off. Jeff Stelling sacked for trashing the SkySports studio set.

5) Chesterfield, Rotherham and Vale all relegated but occupy the top three places in 2007/08. Rotherham, now managed by Martin Scott, win the title. Pools lose in playoffs... to Boston.

Sorry :uhoh: Cheese before bedtime

I could live with that

Darlo will be 8th again, said it before and I'll say it again, it's a habit they won't be breaking this season. Having said that they've done VERY well lately, I hope they hold Walsall to a nice 1-1 draw next Saturday.

I think irony will strike...

...Darlo fans have accepted that they won't make the playoffs, and even now many still don't believe that they can do it. The past two seasons where they've missed out, they were definitely in the playoffs according to their fans. Methinks now they've accepted they won't be, they'll get in. Complacency has halted them in the past - maybe the team are proving their fans wrong every season?

The ideal scenario would be to be promoted at Darlo, if that's possible.

Yes, promotion after a 5=0 demolition job like what Carlisle did to them last season in front of 4000 Poolies and 1000 carvery boys.

Can't be done Mamps, lovely thought though it is. We'd have a maximum of 82 ponits if we won at darlo with seven to play and fourth place already have to many for us to be out of sight.

if this Kevin Harpic 's as good as you claim ... what's he doing roughing it on loan with you lot, the way you talk surely Barcelona should be interested...

Even a shiny scrap of tinpot gleams in the sunlight amongst a pile of......

To be honest, the rest of the team were playing really badly, especially through the midfield, Harpic and Cooper appear to have solved that problem clappp
