Loved it. F-ucking loved it.

I bet the Boydy haters amongst us are gutted.

Back to his sublime best.

Colin Nish appears to have detractors too. Dont know why, I thought he was bloody good.......apart from his penner.

Much better player than some are saying. And his work rate was spot on.

A great bench that can only get better when Browny is fit.

Luscombe Poole and Murray are all worthy of the first 11.........anytime.

The back four is the worry, despite someone giving Hartley MOTM. Awful goal we conceded, and they ran us ragged at the back times, as we did them.

It should have been a 4-4 draw not 1-1.

I also thought Flinders was superb.

A great game though, and we already look miles better than last season.

Hopefully Sweeneys powers of recovery amaze the staff again.

Great night though. LOVED IT.

It was strange. It didn't really feel like a defeat. I reckon if Sweeney hadn't got injured, we would have beaten them comfortably in extra time. They looked flattened when Sweeney equalised, him going off lifted them.

Was indeed a good game. Thought sheff utd looked decent most notably on the break as they were very quick. They played some good stuff on the edge of our box which we did well to defend.

Boyd was excellet first half some of his touches and turns were excellent. Deserved a goal when he got past about 3 men and just poked it wide. He seemed to drop off a bit in the second half and that's when i thought nish came on strong. Linked play up well and worked his socks off.

Poole and ludscombe changed our style a bit when they came on as we started playing infront of their box and opening them up a bit more. Shame Sweeney had to go off as I think we would have won had we not had to shuffle the team about.

Two draws against much fancied teams to start the season is very good and hopefully 3 points Saturday.

The way I see it, this was an ideal "Practice Match".

Sheff Utd were a VERY good side. Quick on the break, spread the ball about well and a major test for our defence. We matched them for 120 minutes, a large chunk with 10 men.

We'd have only got Wigan or Burnley in Rd 2, probably Away, and gone out anyway.

The Nish-haters will just have to continue their bleating because he's playing for 6 games. Mark my words. I hope he comes good, and sticks it up your collective arseholes big style.

Supporting your club means supporting your players.

Without wanting to disagree with you, he came good last night. Its just that we have some extremely retarded fans, that need a target.

Ah but poolies are different. We like to think we are great fans, but we have an element who revel in hating our own players.

On a board where people are banned for abusing a gypo darlow nimlet, you would think the mods would take stronger action against people that put in the title of threads that they hate our own players.

Sadly, they wont. Thats called free speech apparantly.

Even though the retard that started that thread is probably about six, or certainly has a mental age of about 6, he will be positively encouraged to keep giving his opinion. Its his right afterall.

It was an amazing match. One of the best pools games ive ever been to. Hartley deserved man of the match. It was one of them types of matches which makes you nervous and excited at the same time when it goes into extra time then penalties. We were the better team and deserved the win but I'm sure on Saturday we'll annihilate walsall as they are an easier opposition anyway.

NEVER SAY DIE :)

Hmmm. Im not so sure that we will annihilate them like, our players obviously put in a heck of a shift last night over 120 mins. I think its a dangerous game to assume we will walk any games in this league.

3 points will suffice, even if its a scrappy 1-0.

An annihilation may be wishful thinking, but I think we could grab a couple of goals

I thought if Sweeney hadn't have got injured we wouldn't have needed extra time, we had all the momentum at that stage and looked the likely winners.

Nish just needs his first goal to settle him down, he had a poor season last year so he hasn't come here full if confidence and I have a feeling by his body language that he is a confidence player. Morons getting on his back might want to consider this when barracking every mistake, get behind him and next time he gets the ball he might do something good.

I enjoyed last nights game and couldn't fault any of the players but I am little concerned by our midfield in a 4-4-2. We haven't got bags of pace in that starting eleven and with Sweeney bombing it leaves us wide open to the counter attack. The goal we conceded last night was a result in the ball not running for us on the edge of the Sheffield United box, and just about every time (until Murray came on) they attacked after they did so through a gaping hole where our central midfield should have been.

Mr C, were those lads you came and talked to after 90 minutes your brood?

One of them was in serious need of a pull through with a christmas tree, the smell was almost putting me off my enjoyment of the match!!

By the way, really enjoyed the game, especially Nish and Boyd. Also Nobby Solano is a better 'crosser' of the ball with his head, than most of the right winger we have ever had.

That Boyd turn in the first half was absolutely brilliant. I thought we were excellent and to be fair Sheff utd look a really good side too. I agree with Pj about our midfield though. As much as i get excited about us attacking, i think Paul Murray is a smart footballer tactically and we need him in there. Im beginning to think that id prefer him to Liddle really in the centre. Liddle is athletic and industrious, but Murray knows how to close space and defend our midfield a lot better. I think id prefer Murray to start.

Stop being f-ucking stupid.

Slagging off new players and saying you hate them after one game, is why you can f-uck off. This is Mick Wadsworths main signing, and you should support both him and the player.

If you cant do that you have no right to be at the match never mind on here.

Glad to here that there were more encouraging signs at Tuesday's match. I've just got back from holiday and so missed the opening two competitive games of the season.

Really looking forward to Saturday. A nice comfortable 2-0 win will go down a treat.

there's been a couple of dickhead young'uns spouting crap on a Pools Facebook page. I said to the lad who started the page that the players read this type of shite, and must wonder why they bother? The lad is a good bloke and a loyal Pools fan and I hope he's kicked them off the page by now!!

It`s a game for 1, usually undertaken with top shelf literature and a box of tissues

When you get good at it, add rubber gloves, bag of warm liver and a pizza
