And what a crock of shite that draw was anyway. Unseeded teams drawn at 10am yesterday morning. They were picking cubes out of the ball and you didn't know what was going on.

The whole competition is going to the wall in my opinion. Seeded draws are shite, if the sponsors are only interested in the top half dozen Premiership teams, we might as well ask to be left out of the whole competition. The beauty of the FA Cup is at the third round it's a level playing field.

Humbug.

Completely disagree, going to the wall? Oh so 100 goals on one night of fixturea is just a fading tournament? Seeded draws are there not to get the 'bigger' teams through more easily, but it increases the potential for shocks, and gives fans of the lower leagues to see their sides play teams like WBA, Everton or Burnely for example. Yes the FA Cup is completely even but the chances of getting a big premiership side are not as high in the Carling Cup. I personally think it's more entertaining as the FA Cup has massively lost it's magic

You think WBA and Burnley are big clubs and attractive draws?!

Seeded draws are a fix, they are design to get big teams through to the later stages of the competition. Not to give the smaller teams a big game. If that was the idea why aren't all the unseeded teams at home?

To give smaller teams a chance of a moneyspinner at the likes of Old Trafford or Anfield?

and a complete hammering in the process?

How many of the Premiership teams would have decent crowds in for a second round Carling Cup game? Oh and most of the big teams (Champions League and Europa League participants) don't come into the competition until round three, by which time the vast majority of unseeded teams will be long gone.

I think the format of the League cup is far superior to that of the FA cup.

If anything I think the FA cup has more of a chance of going to the wall.

I reckon it's just Liverpool, Crawley and Stevenage now. Until next week that is.

I've probably missed some though.

That's what makes losing on sudden death penalties even more frustrating! banghead

I just felt somehow that we might go all the way to penalties and lose!

That would have been a cracking draw.

...except the numbers would have been vastly different, so we wouldn't have had the same number as Sheff Utd.
