Looking lean and working hard. Scored with his one chance against one of the better teams in the divisionI reckon that this season will rival 2005 for him.

We all know how much ability he's got, a good consistent season from him and we're laughing.

I think a lot of people forget about Boydy's ability with his head, he used to score a lot of goals back in the day. It's something we should be utilising more.

Really good point - and that is why Boyd and Poole need to start. Poole appears to have the pace skill and energy to get into the channels or behind the defence and Boyd can get his head on the end of crosses or show some clever touches in and around the box. All you can ask of your strikers is to come in and score -

I trust Wadsworth enough to let him give Nish a proper crack at the whip, to drop him after one game would be unfair IMO. It's great we have Poole as an option though.

I wouldn't see it as being dropped, more a case of Poole winning his place. If players come in and do well they have to start for me and if that means leaving people with experience like Nobby and Nish out so be it....

I thought Boyd was finished mid way through last season, and I questioned his commitment but he has come back pre-season looking hungry and I think realising he had one last chance and he seems to be taking it. I hope he goes on to have a great season for us and brings back some of the skills he demonstrated 5 or 6 years ago.
