Great day out and so nearly a perfect day!

Lets not beat about the bush, MK were the best team and will be gutted not to have got 3 points but we put up a good fight and our plan to counter attack obviously worked and great to see 2 strikers get off the mark.

Looked a penalty to me in the last minute mind, dont see how the ref didnt book him for diving if he didnt think it was a foul? sctatchinghead

Ref was shit throughout though and they were a bunch of dirty, whinging bastards.

Great build up to 1st goal and brilliant cross by Horwood to put it on a playe for Boydy. 2nd goal looked sublime from our position and simply cant wait to see it on tv, looked like Poole skinned 2 and buried it away from edge of the box.

Luscombe came on at right wing and he looked uncomfortable simply because he was on the wrong wing, a few times nearly got caught out because he had to shift ball onto his left foot. Not his fault though and he did some great tracking back and passing.

MK seemed to have taken the Brighton approach of passing the ball out from the back, cant recall their keeper ever hoofing it, even corners were passed short etc. Good team and will do very well imo, i dont think we will come up against many sides that good.

Gutted we couldnt hold on but a point is a great result and sets us up nicely. rolf

ps love the burgundy strip!

i agree i would have snatched your hand off for a point before the game, i thought adam boyd was outstanding today, if he stays fit i can see him getting 20 goals this season, on colin nish my stepson is in the army and is best pals with a hibs fan and he reckons hes shite, im all for giving the lad a chance but he looks unfit think poole would have played better off boyd, there was a few silly mistakes at the back which need cut out, but there was a big gap beetween the back 2 which got exposes a few times just lucky there finishing was shite, i think liddle and sweens wernt at there best but hey 1st game gives something to build on... up the pools

Talking to a mate tonight just got back from Majorca talking to a load of Scottish lads who asked him who he supported. When he said Pools they all started laughing, they where Hibs fans and they said 'good luck with Nish he's f..k.ng crap'.

Who knows?????

He might well have been shite in the Scottish Prem but surely no-one thinks any League One teams could hold their own in there?? Lower Scottish One maybe....

I do!

Outside of Rangers and Celtic most League One teams could compete in the SPL, the lower half of Scottish Division One is Blue Square Premier standard at best, some of those clubs struggle to attract a thousand fans for a home game. The like of Hibs and Hearts could possibly compete in the Championship at push.

His record suggests he wasn't shite in the Scottish Premier League he just had a poor season last year. Not that it's relevant now, all that matters is what he does at Pools and we'll judge him solely on that. I couldn't give a fook if Jock Mctaggert says he's shite!

i think Horwood's delivery is probably in attacking positions the best in the division. Boyd is a clever enough player to read that delivery as we saw yesterday. I know he can be something of an enigma Adam Boyd, but christ if we can get his confidence going and somewhere near his best, then those two can be absolutely deadly this season, im certain of it. I'm not really worrying about Nish yet, but im kind of excited about Boydy to be honest, because his attitude seems to be spot on.

I dont know about anyone else as well, but if Poole keeps it up as he has been, maybe its even Poole and Boyd as a front two. Im so excited about Poole, because his goal yesterday was class.

I want to see Poole starting up front too but cant see him dropping his new no1 striker after 1 game and cant see Boyd being dropped either.

I agree. I'd stick with Boyd and Nish for now.
FFS Nish has only played 1 game and he's been written off.
He didn't impress me much yesterday but I'd prefer to see him half a season before I decide whether he's shite or not!!

Well said, Torquay thought that Eifion Williams was shyte and he did ok for us didn't he? The Torquay manager apparently laughed at Turner and told him he'd bought a dud. If Nish turns out to have as good a career here as Eifion i'll be more than happy.

No one on here had advocated dropping Nish, just that Poole might be pushing for a place in the eleven. I wish certain people would actually read the posts rather than slating people. The only passing comment was certain scottish fans had made a comment. The bloke didnt even say he agreed with it.

Years ago a Jock I knew told me haggis was shite, I tried it for myself and really liked it!

The moral of the story is, never listen to a Jock and make up your own mind

Its lush when stuffed into chicken breasts!

Hmm maybe give that a go when I can get a decent haggis, most of it is naff, occasionally you get one in muslin and it`s good tucker.

And nobody has slated anyone...more just making a comment about the comments..... if you read the posts that would be clear.

Is it a coincidence that you have a player called Hartley and one called Poole?

No our chairman insists that all player recruitment involves surname quirkiness. We could have been a real force this season had Mick Wadsworth landed his main summer targets Mick United, and Brian Football Club

aye, to be honest 'slated' is a bit harsh. You're completely right there.

Apparently in the 60's Aston Villa had 3 players in the same line up....
Charlie Aitken
Julio Arce
Barry Hole
