Out of sheer ignorance I've set my PC to read pdf's in word. Obviously it doesn't work, particularly as I'm running a Chinese version of office and make it work from memory as to where stuff is in the menus.

How can I reset it so the pdf's come out in Adobe??

Aye, it crossed my mind but a. I can't remember when I made the said error and b. I'd still have to set it right, and that's where another breath taking display of uselessness will exhibit itself!!

Alternatively *right* click a pdf icon, select "open with" from the menu then "choose a program".

Put a tick in the "always open with this program" box

Click "browse" and drill down to the Adobe Acrobat .exe file*, click "open" then click "OK".

*should be something like C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe.
