This cheered me up on an otherwise dull afternoon.

Talk about delusions of grandeur - they'll have even more leg-room than the Darloids rattling around in a 32,000 all seater stadium rolfl

DONS HAVE WORLD CUP HOPES FOR NEW STADIUM
By Tom Rostance, PA Sport
MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman claims his club's new stadium can play a
``serious role'' in any future World Cup bid.
The League Two side are set to move in to their new 32,000-seater stadium in
time for the start of next season, and Winkelman insists it is good enough to be
part of any bid by the Football Association to host the 2018 World Cup.
He told PA Sport: ``I'm very excited about the 2018 World Cup bid.
``StadiumMK has been built to play a role, and we hope that the geographical
location and the ease with which people can get in and out of Milton Keynes
means we'll be one of the locations which the bid may take seriously.''
A Government feasibility study this week named the new Wembley, Old Trafford,
The Emirates Stadium, St James' Park, the City of Manchester Stadium and Villa
Park as the six stadia which meet all of FIFA's requirements to stage matches at
the tournament.
The Dons are on course to move into the stadium in July, with an initial
capacity of 22,000 increasing to 32,000 in ``12-18 month's time.''
StadiumMK will be one of just five stadiums in the country to meet UEFA's
four-star requirement when it opens in July.
Winkelman said: ``We are the first stadium in the country to meet the 2005 act
for 360 degrees visibility for disabled spectators.
``We hope that we can pay a serious role. There's going to be a call for all
levels of stadia to be involved in the World Cup. We don't think capacity will
be an issue and that it will be all about quality.
``The Olympics in 2012 and the World Cup in 2018 would be a huge decade of
sport in this country - and Milton Keynes can be involved.''
