That was truly excellent - never seen it before as I rarely watch tv. Good to see Peelie again as well & the BBC Maida Vale studios where I've spent many a happy hour.
On the credits I noticed one of the cameramen was Jon Daly! Hope he didn't miss many shots

Nope, tried again for another 6 mins and 35 secs of my life and it's still just a cacophonous racket to me. I can do that, you just don't tune up and don't tell tell your band mates what you're playing.

Well Kev, it's all a matter of taste isn't it, '50,000 Fall fans can't be wrong'. I quite like a cacophonous racket. I like many of their tunes, the wry words and at times self deprecating humour. There's also the sense that it will all go horribly wrong at any minute and the past has shown that it often has - it's a bit like supporting Hartlepool over a long period of time - they always seem to bounce back from adversity, never hitting the really big time but survivng and having the occasional 'good run'.
If you can do similar I'd record it and sell it in Japan - they have some really cacophonous bands, my favourites being 'Melt Banana' and 'the Boredoms'.

Of course it's all a matter of taste. I've tried and tried and tried to like the Fall, I've seen them countless times. Maybe I've just bucked the law of averages and seen them every time it's gone horribly wrong. But if I went to see the Fall one night and that bloke who hits himself over the head with a tin tray and sings 'Mule Train' the next night, I can guarantee I'd be singing 'Mule Train' on night three.

It's a lot more pleasing on the ear.

Clippety clop, clippety clop........

Now look what I've done......

Kev, if you can do a cacophonous Fall type version of Mule Train then I think you'd be on to a winner.

I'm on Mr Lord, I haven't tuned the telecaster since I got here in December and I'll get our rass to throw the cutlery drawer down the stairs.
