Below are some photies taken by my sister at a couple of games at the Vic many years ago. She shadowed Frank Reid when she was doing her photography qualifications, and got these shots of some classic Pools stars in action.

The only problem is I that can't identify the teams we were playing. Any clues? If I remember right the games were consecutive home wins.

Not Northampton, as that was the Yuill white strip.

I was convinced one of the teams was Scarborough and the other Grimsby, but according to inthemadcrowd.co.uk, Jason Priestley was in goal for us. However, another pic I've got shows Brian Cox between the sticks.

Also, is the bloke with tash on the first photo Stan McEwan or not?

Educated guess but think it may be Stoke from the 1991/92 season

Deffo second part of the 1989/90 season as that is the kit and Steve Tupling and Brian Cox feature so it's after Sir Cyril took charge.

Top one is Maidstone (gold top black shorts) I think and I'm going to say Aldershot on the next one as according to Mr MadJohns fine site that was the home game after.

I think Maidstone may well be one of the games. Who is the gadgie with the tash then? According to inthemadcrowd.co.uk someone called Paul Atkinson played, but I can't remember a thing about him.

Here's some more pics to see if they shed any more light. I think it might actually be Barry Sidall in goal as he isn't wearing tights like Coxy used to:

Wasn't there a boy band from the town around that time? Sang 'I want to be your pro-per-ty' or something similar? Or did I dream it?

That was Blue Mercedes. They weren't from Hartlepool they were from the home counties. I know Dave Titlow (singer) quite well, I was knocking about with their manager (female) at the time.

I'm still not convinced that the team in the light strip is Colchester. Does anyone have any programmes from around the time which will feature action shots from the previous games?

By the way, it's only fair that I give her businesses a plug, as she said anyone can use these photies for whatever they want. If you live in the midlands/south and are looking for a wedding photographer, click here:

If you need some commercial photography doing for a business, click here:

If you are a bewer who wants some boudoir photography doing, or you want to buy it as a present for your lass, click here:

There's more old Poolie pics, some of which will be published in the forthcoming issue of Monkey Business.

Billy's in the first picture twice!
On the right in sunglasses with his Killer Queen look and on the left at the front in his One Vision look.

I am not on any of them photos as I would have been 7 at the time and started going to Pools in the 91 season.
