I agree.

All football clubs have rivalries and piss taking is all part of the package.

But if they genuinely are going into admin again then I feel for their supporters. Hopefully it will be nothing so serious.

This time its the stadium holding company, not the actual club, although the club is nothing without a ground to play in. I've always said that the ground will be the killing of the club. It also wouldnt suprise me if that wanker Houghton is playing silly not nice people again.

Oh well, the life of a Darlo fan!!

why can't you walk away from the stadium? Okay you may have to groundshare but surely you need to start from scratch in anycase, or is it not that simple?

We need a ground to share to begin with that is up to conference standards. Locally that means Gateshead, York, Boro, Pools, Sunderland, Newcastle and Blyth. Given that we get shit crowds on the edge of the town limits, what would we get while sharing? Plus I think the conference are very picky with grounds, you need a guaranteed amount of time on any lease and us potentially having no home at all could mean getting the boot out of the league. Its a pisser because after tonight, the play offs were a real possibility.

Must be to do with the holding company running into trouble again.
It's never been stable if you look at the financial set-up & is probably set to go into receivership.

Unless Darlo & Singh can off-load the Reynolds Palace it will continue to drag them down.
A ground share with Bishops then.
.
Singh may well feel it's time to walk away
Hope it works out for the Loids but I reckon this is as serious as it gets.

I for one laughed when Darlo went down but now I only feel pity for them. They realise how stupid they were with the "we will never play you again" and "were so rich" comments. Only the "true" fans are left and I know we are their rivals but they are a small club in dire straits that could so easily have been us but for the grace of god (IOR).

I hope this is all sorted out as would love them back in the league and even in our division rather than Orient, Brentford etc. I can see them going the way of Scarbrough and gone with it a brilliant away day in the north.

I know I may get shot down at this comment but what would people say about them sharing our ground for a few years if it means the stay in business. I wouldnt mind them doing it at all.

to be honest i dont think they would come here even if it meant folding as the only option the costs of police presence on match days would be crippling for them i think the ground share with bishops is a none starter as well i dont think their ground was built to conference standard but will speak to my daughter who works for the company that built the new ground and clarify that

think that would be a very expensive option the ground was in a serious case of disrepair

All thats left of Feethams is the Tin Shed roof. The "new" east stand is in storage in Darlo and free to a good home. Apparently IOR were considering taking it as the steel its made from is ideal for coastal conditions.

This looks really bad for Darlo and is a stark reminder of what life outside of the umberella of IOR would be like. There by the grace of god.

I genuinely wish Darlo well with this and hope they pull through. To be honest i wish Darlo where a League 1 club as i really miss the derby days. Not quite the same with Carlisle.

People talk about the passion and rivalry between the Mackems and Newcastle or LIverpool teams and Manchester etc, but our derby was as passionate and played out in an atmosphere of real, heart felt rivalry. Sad to think they might never happen again.

I said it in Feb 2009 I don't want Darlo(or any other club to fold, well apart from couple in premier league), it's the supporters who suffer and it's never there fault.

The fact is the stadium has been a milestone round there neck ever since it was built because of someone's ego.

It will be a very sad day if they go but a club is about people. If Accrington Stanley can get back into the league then so could a re-founded Darlington FC run by the fans for the fans. It would take time to build but it might be the only option. I would be happy to transfer all my feelings of 'friendly rivalry' to the new Loids.

It looks from this, that Scott & Sizer, who are owed money to do with the stadium/land, are doing their best to take the Loids down. But Raj Singh is still fighting his corner to give Darlo a future.

Not sure I understand what you mean by that.

I never want to see days like that again. For two reasons.

1. We have dropped back to their level
2. They have risen back to our level.

Neither of which I could stomach.

So unless you want us relegated, are you siggesting you THEM to be succesful?

I am with Muttley.

I don't get that. You want to see them promoted... twice!?

I'm not bothered about ever playing them again, derbies aren't really enjoyable occasions, tense scrappy affairs normally (unless we dick them as was becoming a bit of a habit). However I wouldn't like to think of a World without Darlo, who would we laugh at? It is inevitable that if not this time, they will go out of business while they are at that ground. They can't have a future there it will always attract the wrong type of people.

I couldn't care less if they got promoted or not. Their on field fortunes don't interest me.

But I wouldn't wish being kicked out of the league on them and having to start again from the bottom. Even though I'm sure that would happen if worst came to worst.

The editorial in the Echo summed it up perfectly and laid the blame for their demise at the decision to move to the 'Ground that crowds forgot' ..... While there's talk of sympathising with their plight, in many respects it was self inflicted. There were those Darlo fans who foresaw the outcome, but were drowned out by a tidal wave of their swaggering fellow fans high on a heady cocktail of pretentiousness and naked ambition. The irony being that the night they beat us in the play offs was the high water mark of their achievements.
Any fans who extol the virtues of their carveries gravy over their own players is a club in trouble.
It was predicted and brushed aside, now will they believe us....?
