It just looks like camp rugby with advert breaks to me, but can someone please explain the British sports media's subservient obsession with showing us this tosh, the build up to the games and their rush to show us something that seems to be the sole preserve in this country of the sort of daft lads and the equally odd girlfriends of the few who have them, who play sci fi fantasy war games and think learnig Klingon is OK and love to wittily put Jedi down as their religion .... because I just don't see the Yanks doing the same with us over there when the FA Cup comes around.

I don't see his problem, it's on Sky Sports/C4 late at night on a weekend, and BBC1 once a year in the middle of a Sunday night, netball probably gets more coverage.

What annoys me is the way American sport is creeping into quiz questions. Who the hell knows who won the West Kentucky baseball final in 2008?

Your quite right Snowy, it's a non sport and has no redeeming qualities for me. All about the money and the Yanks can keep it along with Rounders....i mean Baseball. It is not the World Series you fat ignorant arse' and nor is the Super Bowl the GREATEST show on Earth. It not even the greatest thing on late night british terestrial telly. Go away and take your crappy music and stupid langauge with you.

I will get slaughtered for this, but I love watching cricket and the six nations rugby union.

If anyone of you dare tell me they arent better than watching that shite I did on Sunday, Chelsea v Liverpool, then you are a liar.

Infact, I look forward to getting my weekly Barca fix more than any other sport, other than pools.

As much as you might have had a point if it was just a case of choose to watch the game live or not and if you chose the "not" option you don't have the thing thrust at you from all angles anyway, they banged on about it on every telly news programme that I watched last week and the beginning of this. And on the radio too. So it's not just a case of watching the game or not, you even bigger rarfy fooking rarf.

I love watching Cricket. But unfortunately having to work keeps getting in the way of doing it as often as I would like to.

After watching Barca watching any other football on the tele is like watching B fillums. It is a joy to just sit and admire them. Unbelievable football.

When this era of dominance by Barca is over I suspect we will never see a team as good again.

And our football isn't, what about Rugby fans who couldn't give a flying fook about a bunch of men trying to kick a ball into a goal and falling about like poofs at the first sign of contact?
I'll tell you what you don't see in American Football, diving, whining at the refs, and everyone of them has a college degree, unlike most of the rarfs playing our game who have had more orgy's than I've had Sunday dinners, even players in the lower leagues are at it so don't think it's just the "premiersh!te".
Sky Sports News showed a few clip segments but that's all I saw, the main bulk what they put on was that borefest Liverpool vs Chelsea coverage and that sh!te derby from jockland.
But it's usually a case of "I don't know the fooking rules, they wear helmets so must be fooking puffs, turn this sh!te off" with some of you isn't it?

I like watching most sports with the exception of American football and motor sports.
I don't begrudge anyone the chance to watch what they want, it's all about choice.
Each to their own.
One thing I do prefer however is watching sport live. I'd much rather be there than watch it on TV.
Agree with the comments on Barcelona.............different planet.

Yes they all do have a college degree however this is handed to them on a plate as they are playing football.

Hear, hear. I'm a big American football fan, watch the Cleveland Browns on a Sunday and try and catch at least one other game after that. You'd think going by this that it's replacing some quality viewing time on TV (whatever that may be). 1 o'clock Monday morning on Channel 4 and 4 hours a week on Sky Sports 4 is about the best we can hope for. What do we get? 'Boo hoo' cos it happens to take Fernando Torres and his ilk off the TV for 5 minutes. Another example of thicket Hartlepudlians showing their ignorance because something is different. Always so fucking negative.

Compo - no doubt some are given passes in their college cacademic careers, but the amount of talent that has fallen by the wayside because of academic issues is enormous. You don't put at least something in, you don't pass.

Concurring fully. I like to watch most sports on the telly with the exception mainly of the horses and motor racing. I look forward to the 6 nations every year seeing as I don't have a Sky Sports subscription it is on Council telly it means that I can watch it

Rugby union: Tackling at the waist or below, and only the man with the ball
American Football: taking out your opponent sometimes chest/neck high, on every single play, with or without the ball.
Football: Puffs compared to both.
