I am sure I saw pools at molyneux twice in the late 80's, definately one when they had some new striker banging in goals for fun and he ended up scoring twice.......a certain steve bull. What a quality striker he was :coool:

The ground only had 2 sides back then, pools fans (well all 40 of us  ) were sat in the lower tier of the stand facing the cameras last night (where the manu fans were last night) and to the left was a huge bank of terracing. To our right was an old terracing that was closed down and opposite was a dilapidated old stand sadx It's great to say that I have seen these grounds when they still had terracing mind :coool:

Cheers Mr Bus and I was right, Steve Bull did get them both in the 2 nil defeat. I wasn't at the other game though, just a few years before I started going away.

I think the 'relationship' with Pools and Wolves happened because a Wolves game had been called off....late 80's/early 90's???? sctatchinghead ....and some of their fans decided to attend the next nearest game which happened to be Pools been the visiting team and they went in the Pools end and started 'supporting' Pools etc....and that's where the chant of 'HartleWolves' came about!!!! :coool: :coool: :coool:

I think like....it's what I've been told over the years!!!!

I've always had a soft spot for Wolves since whenever that happened!!!! :coool:

I was at that game - 1990 at Gillingham. Freezing cold and loads of Wolves fans with their shirts off singing Hartlewolves. If i remember rightly it finished 0-0 and it was the first time we were off the bottom under Cyril Knowles. We were celebrating at the end like we'd won the league. clappp

That was in January 1990. I was born in April.

What I know about that, and playing Maidstone at Dartford etc, I only know because my Dad went to those games and has told me stories about those days when I was older.

Yeah I could have guessed that....but what I'm saying is why didn't you mention the story about HartleWolves....seen as you knew about it off your Dad....when this Thread first started on Saturday cos we were struggling to find out why Pools and Wolves had this 'Friendship'....it wasn't until Monday morning that the 'truth' was told on the Board!!!! confised sctatchinghead confised

It just puzzles me POK that you could have been the first to crack the mystery but decided not to tell the story you got told off your Dad....when usually your fingers would have been a blur pounding those keys and you'd have been crying and weeing with excitement!!!!

Very strange....unless you are a little fibber and didn't know about it and you are just joshing us like!!!!
