In the bottom two leagues do you reckon anyone has a better and more settled pairing than these two?

I don't get to see Pools as much as I'd like living darn sarrf but the times I have seen Pools in Hartlepool the have been so solid going through the season it's untrue. It makes Scotty dropping Clark last season look even more absurd now than it was at the time.

After that Swindon game I don't think I could get anymore complimentary about that two - they were superb. We definately have a top six League One side in League Two on current form (in my humble opinion).

After reading Mr I's posts, I have been reminded to err on the wave of caution concerning Pools - but after the performance this afternoon I can't help but have a smile on my face :sweet:

Never mind the bottom two divisions, the likes of Charlton and West Ham do not have a better pairing and I am more than confident that these two could slot into most championship sides.

Lets not go OTT. Nelson and Clark are very good but they have been protected by Liddle for a lot of the time and Boland who are very good players. We are also playing shite every week so I would expect them to look good against teams in this league. Hopefully promotion will come and we'll see how they do next season........

I never slate players at the match, I do stand on the millhouse terrace though. Is that not the done thing.?

And how am I looking at the negative side of things? Danny Wilson has assembled a good squad and for the first time in years we seem to be able to control things in the centre of midfield. The midfielders deserve as much credit as the centre backs. All round the team as a whole is playing extremely well but in my opinion it is a tad early to suggest we have one of the best centre back pairings in the country........

A fair opinion, wrong of course but fair and entitled.

Besides, I said that we have one of the best pairings outside the premier league and probably including one or two of those too. for example, can you see Nelson and Clark having a problem slotting into many championship sides ?
