...article in todays Mail....says he would love to come back to the club as he still has a lot of affection for Pools and it's the first result he looks for.....lack of pace at 32 may be a problem?....to be fair we have little cover for big Sam.

Was far too slow at 22 never mind at 32.

Agree with that. Wadsworth did mention we could be short of cover at centre-half and I don't know what the extent of Collins injury is. But, going for Lee would be a backward step for me....

Has anyone at the club said anything about the extent of the injury?

He was in the carvery bit at half time, and when i asked him he said knee ligaments. Hope its just a tweak but he did seem to walk off ok and obviously got up the stairs alright !!

Nobody has mentioned Haslam's shift in there. i thought he was excellent clappp

He was indeed crap when he came to us on loan the other season. He had a couple of decent seasons at Donny Rovers after leaving us via Sheff Wed but like has been said I would sooner see us get someone up and coming on loan or shuffle the pack we have - Haslam was indeed very good today - in fact I don't think Haslam has really ever let us down....

he must have approached the Mail himself then... stupid paper then prints it..... they can all fu-ck off!! Turner would have been stupid enough to bring him back and I'm glad MW is too intelligent to fall for this scam

If it's true that Big Sam is going to be out for a month then I think we will probably see MW go for a loan signing. He will be able to get a better signing in than Lee and he will be looking for a direct replacement for Collins - someone who wins everything in the air. Haslam was excellent when he came on but he would struggle to dominate in an aerial battle and I don't think we could rely on Bjornsson in that position either as he isn't aggressive or experienced enough in that role.

I think you're re-writing history a bit here. Graeme Lee completed his contract and left us to try his hand in a higher league - fair enough.

He was a solid defender when he played for us. Admittedly not particularly fleet of foot but then Sam Collins isn't likely to feature in the 100 metres at the olympics next year. As a stand in for Collins we could do worse but the choice is up to Mick Wadsworth and to his view, all heads round here must bow.

Like JohnnyMars says, we can do better than him. And to be honest I have enough trust in wadsworth that he will sign a half decent player. Unlike decent strikers there are a lot of centrehalves around and a loan signing shouldnt be tough.

I once called Lee a judas on here simply because he left quick enough to join Sheff Wed (with Turner) stating he was joing a bigger club. A club MJ rightly pointed out were in the same league and finished well below us in that season. you can therefore presume I would rather have anyone else.

Centre half is a position i always think you want some experience in, hartley's a young lad would we really want a loan signing next to him who is also a bairn?

Maybe signing lee for a month might not be that bad, if wadsworth thinks he's good enough than i'd trust his judgement.

Bury thought haslam wasn't good enough for l2, and so did shrewsbury regarding murrey, horwood at carlisle etc etc
