Set up WPA and a password. usually you access this by entering into your browser: 192.168.1.1 or 1.2 or 1.3 depending on the router make. Then you go into security and set up/change your access password.

Whilst I appreciate your advice, on this occasion I will ignore it on the basis of my peace loving nature and they are 2 x 16 stone rug munching munters and would probs knack me!

There are essentially 3 type of security: WEP/WPA/WPA2

WEP can be hacked by a five year old with a laptop running Linux. WPA is way harder and WPA2 is nigh on impossible in practice.

When you go into the security settings you will have these options.
