According to the BBC website the caretaker manager at Blackburn is his dad.
Does anyone know if this is accurate? And what bearing do people think it will have on us extending his loan?

Shouldn't think so, he said his Mam and Dad have seen all of his appearances for Pools, and the stand in Manager at Blackburn won't be able to do that.

Once both our keepers are fit he will be gone i would imagine. Got a big future that lad and we will miss him.

his loan runs out next week, and wadsworth is already trying to extend it long term according to tonights mail.

I think that this issue could be the key one for the remainder of the season. Jake is pretty much worth a goal a game at the moment. A season long loan and things would look rosy.

Right, I'm not saying that Steve Kean the Blackburn caretaker manager is Jake's dad BUT you really haven't thought through your reasoning have you. stpid

He says in the Northern Echo today that he is loving his time at pools and if Blackburn and Pools can agree then he would love to stop longer.

He also says whatever happens he is now a Hartlepool fan.
Apparently he's been meeting up with a couple of lads in the Greensides during the week, one is the son of the crow (John Walter Mitty Shithead) who goes to all the away games.

If he's made friends here in the town then I'm sure he will be loving it even more.
They have even made up a song for him which they were singing on boxing day.

as amazingly good as he is (i'd probably say the best keeper we've had....and only 19, wow!!!) I don't see the point in keeping him on once Flinders is back to full fitness.

A) Flinders is a perfectly good keeper at this level
B) Its a wage we could use elsewhere
C) it could really upset Flinders having a temporary keeper keeping him out of the team. Assuming that his contract is up in the Summer, thats not sensible thing to do.

The ONLY reason to keep Kean is if we could make it a full time appointment, which is nigh on impossible.

Agree with all of this. Nightmare scenario for next season is that flinders leaves for first choice football, and we can't re-sign kean on loan, leaving us in the same position as when we brought in Lee-Barrett and jan!

I would trust wadsworth to find an adequate replacement but why rock te boat?

its the assumption that he had to spend the rest of the season as a no.2 to a loanee (if we kept Kean for the rest of the season)

I doubt we will keep Kean once Flinders is fit anyway, We risked not having a sub keeper for a game or 2 because Wadsworth couldn't justify paying a loanees wage to just sit on the bench.

Once we have our 2 keepers fit again, will Hodcroft allow us to pay for a 3rd? No chance.

Are people seriously saying once Flinders is fit that he will regain the jersey? (presuming Kean is still here)

He isnt on the same planet as Kean and never will be. I couldnt care less if Flinders gets upset sitting on the bench, its about the team not one player and the team is better with Kean in goal.

You dont win anything without a good keeper and Flinders isnt that.

you talk shite.

Flinders is a very good goal keeper, although Kean is better.

Flinders is ok imo. Not bad, but as Tree says, not in the same league as someone like Kean. Im certainly more confident having kean in goal than Flinders.

I wasn't saying Flinders will get the number 1 jersay back. I was questioning why people think he wouldn't be number 1 next season sctatchinghead
Maybe even the rest of this season when Kean goes back.

think some of the comments are a bit unfair regarding flinders....he is a keeper who is very capable for league 1.....yes I think we all agree that Kean is better but that is not a bad reflection on flinders as kean will go far if he continues in this form

Another thing, Flinders hasn't played since we have looked genuinely harder to break down and when we looked shipping goals left right and centre every game

I'm genuinely baffled by the bashing of Flinders sctatchinghead

He's a very capable keeper at our level. We've just been spoilt by getting a glimpse of a goalie from a superior division.

I also believe Kean's lass isn't a patch on Flinders'... bbolt

That could be part of the reason why we have started to look more solid!

Non starter of a conversation really, kean has been amazing which wont have went unnoticed at ewood park.

To sign him we'd have to spend money that just doesnt exist at our level.

In the three away games Flinders played this season we conceded one late goal at MK Dons so that's not even true is it?

Why let the facts get in the way of having a pop at one of our players though? sctatchinghead

Lol. I still cant see any Flinders bashing

Its hardly "Flinders bashing" to say Kean (who looks future England potential) looks a better keeper. You wouldnt say no to having Rooney in our team merely because Messi is better sctatchinghead

Flinders is solid enough but we will have been spoilt rotten having Kean and I wouldnt expect our goals against column to be 'quite' as stingy if Kean returned.

just cos kean's signed a new contract, it in no way means he is unavailable.

5th choice keeper at a below average premier club or first choice at an established league one side on the edge of the play-offs sctatchinghead no-brainer for me like.

realistically, does anyone know what sort of money he would cost ? that'll determine what level he moves to from blackburn, cos i can't see him staying there after his performances here.

thats a piss poor opinion from someone who needs to find something negative in anything and everything. You should know, he is your alter-ego

flinders isn't crap, but he hasn't ever really filled me with the same confidence that the big feller does. really can't see how flinders will get the jersey back straight off. kean is giving us a massive advantage at the moment and we MUST make the most of it before his inevitable departure.

unless i win the euro millions, then he's OURS....OURS I TELL YOU!!!!!!! HA HA HA HA
