I've now got an iphone and I want to give my old phone to Mk1 child. It's a Blackberry 9105 but its locked to vodafone. Can these things be unlocked easily? I don't trust the multitude of websites who offer this service.

Just go to Vodafone, call them or email them. They have to provide an unlock code if it's your phone.

Just done mine, took no time at all.

Didn't think you could if it's an iphone 4. As for vodafone, the contract has another two months to run but I'm putting the sim in a cheap phone just to catch the occasional call and text that might come through to it. They won't give a code out until the contract is finished.

The iphone is on '3' because they are the only ones who do true unlimited data.

Its a top notch piece of kit, way better than anything I've ever used.

I got this on '3' £35 a month with 2000 minutes a month, 3000 texts and no limits on data. With the contracts on Vodafone, o2, etc, they have silly limits. The phone on top of that was £69. You can also get the phone for nowt at £45 a month.

3 are doing this to basically buy market share.
