well that was a very good boxing day trip.
picked up our huddersfield supporting friends who were quietly optimistic and 7 of us set off.
got to huddersfield about 12.45 and got a table in the rope walk pub next door to the ground which is a bit like the wharf fans of both teams enjoying a pre match pint in harmony.
our huddersfield supporting friends departed for their seats in the direct golf stand.
then £21 lighter and we took our place in the pink stand aka the away end.
had a word with our monkey business editor john prior to the game and we agreed a point would be a good result.
a few bunkerites in the crowd including chip and katcha, geoff N,lightning tree and probably a few others whom i didnt see.
on the field a very good game and one of the most memorable events ever to happen at a pools match. i was one of the 474 pools fans who can say in years to come
"yes i was sat behind the goal when the iceman missed that open goal"
jake kean is going to be a very difficult keeper to replace although mr flinders is a good keeper but as good as jake unfortunately not.
however although jake was outstanding today lets not forget the defence who threw themselves at the ball in a determined rearguard action.
a great show of joy from the players at the final whistle who thoroughly enjoyed the win.
it was a very long drive home for 2 of the occupants of our car who were unmercifully tormented all the way home.
but credit were its due we had arranged to go to the clippie club to see billy west and the town fans didnt bottle it and turned up for another 3 hours of teasing.
overall a very good day and i suspect watford might just be taking us a little more seriously in the forthcoming game.

one note regarding yesterdays game.
what the fook was that lesbian steward up to.
the announcer pre game encouraged the home fans to get off their seats and get behind the team.
our supporters did this and subo decides to try and get our fans to sit down even calling for reinforcements to try and help her.
in the end she conceded defeat.
when asked why she was targeting our fans when the home fans were also stood up she said you have to start somewhere to get people to sit .
then get your own fans in order and tell your pa gadgie not to encourage people to stand

Funny, but in the 91 promotion season we had a good keeper on loan and a break for snow too, remember we beat Carlisle at home in a night match and the snow started as the match drew to a close.

Re the standing fans - they came in at 3 and stood in front of seated pools fans blocking their view - missed first 5 - 7 minutes asking them to move over - a family, disabled and a young girl all had views blocked - it was half hour after they came in that the stewards came to move them - blocking our view again! The 'sheep' menality of our fans tried to come and stand with them, again blocking our view - stand by all means - but please consider those already seated at the ground - the area towards the back at one side was empty - they could have stood there!
