He also said that the wage bill went down in 2009, so all those players who came in under Turner cost less in wages than the ones who went out.
Therefore Turner wasn't actually backed with more money contrary to the popular belief.

We are also going to plan for the 2011/12 season...........

He still had enough scope to bring in 3 or 4 good players rather than 8 or 9 crappy ones.

Actually that's a bit harsh as 4 of the players he signed are bloody good. If only he'd got 1 good striker.....
