We hadn't let that two goal lead against Swindon slip.
The referee hadn't screwed us over against MK Dons.
We hadn't conceded in the last minute against Orient.
We hadn't blown that 2 nil lead against Bristol Rovers with six minutes left
The referee didn't cheat us out of a point on Saturday.
And we won our game in hand.

We'd be 2 points clear at the top!

Obviously I am taking the piss but if you take away the heavy home defeats to Sheff Wed and Carlisle it shows you how well we are competing in EVERY game these days instead of hoping to beat the bottom half teams as defeats were a formality against everyone else.

The future is bright, the future is Mick Wadsworth.

Our form in the last 10 league games is

W 5
D 2
L 3

And that's without a so-called decent striker. Bloody good eh?

I don't think you are taking the piss............the scenario you portray was within our reach.
We could have also beat Leyton Orient, Dagenham & Redbridge and Rochdale.
However we didn't, but those teams were there for the taking.
Colchester were lucky on Saturday......on another day we could also have won that one...........just like Brentford did last night.
We are going in the right direction at last, I just wish more people would attend games which may in turn release a better war chest for next season to add to the savings we will make when the dead wood is scattered.
A good cup run would help as well.
Here's hoping.

Its all if's, but's and maybe's though; what if the keeper handn't punched it into the net last night be would be 3 points worse off, if we had won all our games we would be top etc.

The point is even though we are on the same points as last season everyone is up beat about the performances and the way MW is working miracles with the same group of players. We and they are believing again and not just "going to make the numbers up against the big sides" like we did under the TellyTubby

Have they stopped giving points out for draws now?

I think we are all aware of the meanings of if, but or maybe, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't use them to illustrate what could have been ......or does it???

I think it does illustrate just how close we are to having a good fucking go at the league this season.

As I say, if 'Pools don't tend to only let themselves down at times, they aren't very lucky at times either.

The football we are playing this season, on average, is miles better than it has been for the past two seasons. No doubt about it.

It's interesting to note that we only have the same number of points as we did last season but this season we have played some of the better teams in the league and beaten them. Last season we had a very favourable run of fixtures that saw us briefly go as high as 9th.
