...indirectly at least yesterday.

There was an article in the weekend supplement that came with Saturday's issue of "L'Equipe".

In the magazine was an article about Romain Vincelot at Dagenham, who is originally French.

The article was about him as being a French football player in England, but on another level from the Premier League.

The artcile had a couple of photos from the Dagenham-Pools game three weeks ago and mentions us by name. Nothing else though.

One of our players is in one of the photos of him during the game.

There is also a video about games in League One (which they called "la troisieme division" (!)) on the l'Equipe website.

Salut Monsieur de Kent!

We even made the pages of Onze Mondial after the Stoke cup win what sems like an eternity ago. How much flak are you getting after England's capitulation the other night? I heartily recommend the Beaujolais Nouveau to erase it! bbolt

Sadly no mention of Darlo, as 'L'Equipe' means 'team' as in 'still in the League.'

oh, and this year's Beaujolais is very good at getting you off yer box. Cheaper than your turps too!

Cava POK?

Nevermind L'Equipe get yourself a copy of December's The French Paper- John Borthwick gets a mention and previous issues have included Willie Waddell, Durham City's ground and even people using transistor radios during Pools matches.

It was long time ago, a bald bloke with droopy 'tache used to drive me daft going on about everything but Pools. I think Snowy has/had hair so it can't have been him.

Nowadays everybody does it using their phones, I think they should be banned from all matches and the kids with the numbers at half time should be brought back.

Well, let me put this way. I've been in the job 7 weeks and that was the only day that I didn't want to go in to work.

The banter was all very good-humoured by the teachers, which is good when its that way, but I'm still annoyed at England for at least not putting up a performance again, just like the Montengro game.

Unfortunately, it seems you have an identity like being English or British, it seems to come with a heck of a load of emotional and historical baggage as well (Iraq, Blair etc).

When the English lose at football, people take notice - football is part of our identity.
