Il go for

Keane-7. Two dodgy drops but two very good saves aswell.
Austin-8. Solid and got forward well for goal
Horwood-8. Great cross for Poole
Collins-7.5. Murray gave him a good battle but coped well.
Hartley-7.5. See above. Sounds odd but didnt notice our centre backs very much today!
Gamble-6.5. One awful pass to set them away and a mistake in build up to their goal.
Murray-9. Class act.
Liddle-8. Getting back to his best and great finish
Monky-7. Still not at his best this season but was up for it and getting stuck in.
Brown-6.5. Clearly not fit.
Sweeney-7.5. Great running and positioning, really helped take the pressure off us towards the end.

Mcsweeney-7. Al;ways looks better as a sub, couple of good runs.
Poole-8. Just for that header :)

I'd say all the team bar Gamble were 8 or above. All knew what they were doing and carried out their roles perfectly. Man of the match award for me, if one has to be given considering all the players did their bit, would go to either Monkhouse or Horwood. Both were superb, provided constant menace down the left and provided an assist each.

Gamble was poor throughout and it was no real surprise to me when he was subbed. I made a point of watching him more than I would normally do today and he does indeed give the ball away too much with one particular clumsy turnover leading to Brighton's equaliser.

I'm sure he'll be back to form soon but it has to be said that, at the moment, he's going through a patchy spell.

cheers lads.

by the way, how good a signing has the thirty-plus murray been ?

wadsworth is using him sensibly and surely to god he's enjoying it more here than he would have done at workington town ?

it would have been a waste had he gone to workington, i don't think i've ever seen someone win so many tackles in the middle and he can pick anyone out with either feet. definately one of the best signings in the last few years

I thought man of the match was either Liddle or Murray. Both absolutely superb today, then again the whole team did well and most importantly Mick Wadsworth got the subs right today. What a difference having a striker on the pitch made and if there's a better holding midfielder in league 1 than Paul Murray i haven't seen him. Pools are on the up, and if a performance like that doesn't bring the armchair fans back, then nothing will.

WADSWORTH- 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great tactics to start & he changed it twice during the game. Countered their change to 4-3-3 really well.

Now, Mick, keep Larrikin out of the team.

if I could be bothered, i'd look back on the threads when he was on trial as there were loads criticising him/the signing before he had even kicked a ball

I never said anything but I did have my doubts at the time bbolt

I'd pick Liddle as the man of the match, the timing of his tackles was spot on and he took his goal well.

can't afford to have gamble giving the ball away like he does, he needs to get back to basics and pick out short passes rather than long hopefull balls straight back to the opposition.

Sweeney again worked his socks off from start to finish and caused them plenty of problems.
