Joey Barton has a history of bad disciplinary problems, he's assaulted team-mates, assaulted other players, tried to assault other players and has been in prison for assault.

Given that he deliberately hit Pedersen is it not a tad stupid he has been given exactly the same punishment as Richie Humphreys CBE who did nothing more than slide in for a 50/50 tackle?

as much as i agree offshore that the game is a little 'softer' than it used to be.... You can not condone barton simply punching pederson in the ribs.

Do that on the street and you'd be arrested.

In the stomach maybe you would double up like that but on left hand side of your chest (take a look at he the footage and actually what is said)? I don't think anyone could knock you over thumping you there.

are you winding me up, if someone caught you in the chest it would cause you to go to ground, but even if he is simulating, so what, barton is a horrible thug who has rightly been banned. because we have players who dive (which is a crime in itself) it doesnt mean its alright to support thugs like barton who go around doing things like this. to call pederson a drama queen is ridiculous.
