Aye good luck Gavin Strachan, never let anyone down in a blue and white shirt, even when Scotty decided he might be good on the left wing

I've always found it strange the way Gavin came in with a bang and then ever so gradually faded from the scene, like the Cheshire Cat's smile. It's sure there were times when we didn't make the most of him, and other times when he didn't have what we needed from him, but all in all I'm glad he was one of us for three and a half seasons.

Good luck Gav, though I can't see you getting much of it at Posh  (has anyone noticed even darlo have overtaken them now?)

Oh aye, and say hello to the old man for me when you see him!

Yep, good luck to Strachan. He never quite made it as anything other than a 6.5 out of 10 player but he provided us with some good moments...

The inch perfect cross for Dalys goal at Cardiff
The free kick for Boyds first against Sheff Wed
Last minute equaliser at Bournemuff when the Poolies had been getting abused all game....
The first goal of the 2003/04 campaign with an inch perfect free kick at Peterborough

Good luck lad!

Just found out about this now, logging on to Pools World before coming on here. How am I going to break this to PC? Here's a nice cup of tea darling, oh and by the way Gavin has signed a contract for Peterborough. She will be devastated. The main threat to my marriage was that Sean Bean might one day ask her to leave me, but a secondary, and more plausible option was the chance that Mr Strachan Junior would pop the same question, I would have been history!!

By the way, I am sad to see him go too, he leaves with some great memories, and the thoughts of what might have been.
