I've not seen us dominate a team like that and record such a resounding win for a long time.

Northampton were playing for penalties from what seemed like the 5th minute onwards. Me and Jish suspected that once the first goal went in, and it really was just a matter of time, then the floodgates would open. Was very impressed with Sweeney again.

A handsome win against a team in a league beneath us but after Saturday's result that was just what the doctor ordered.

Well done lads clappp

He'd just taken a corner!

Great finish for a left back!

Really good tonight. Glad I went.

Bucketful of chances (bbc webiste says 16 on target!) sounds about right.

After Saturday that was a great tonic.

Well done boys.

It was a lovely set piece move and a fine finish to boot from Sweeney. I have my doubts that it would work against a League 1 team, or the better ones at least, or am I being overly doubtful?

Yeah I was impressed that the lads kept going and didn't let the frustration get to them.

The only thing that I was a little disappointed with tonight, and I emphasise a little, was that Boyd or Brown didn't score, although Boyd did hit the bar.

thoroughly impressed that the team kept grafting and stayed calm even when it looked like it wasn't going to happen. Just what we needed.

Lets hope Browns ankle is ok.

Can anybody explain why Behan was brought on, on the right wing?

It worked as well

pretty sure brown hit the underside of the bar with a header.

Yes it would appear it was Brown :uhoh: . Just had a read of the match report on the club website.

Horwood is a very good footballer, he was our biggest attacking threat even before the first goal.

What were Carlisle doing releasing him?

Fook me we’ve got a proper left back!

Agreed, Monky looks a much better player with him behind him too. The difference at left back with him there instead of Hartley is staggering.

Quite an annoying 65 minutes or so, but the fifteen minute spell that followed it was excellent. Some cracking goals as well.

Have to admit I called Sweeney's goal told TPP Sweeney would peel off to make it 2-0 lovely move straight from training field.

Excellent win, can't remember the last time I woke up in the morning and checked the score to see that we notched 4.

Its even won me a few beers from 3 mates of mine over here from Northampton, although each one of them is really a Man Utd fan sctatchinghead

It was a quality bit of acting by Horwood. He was continuously looking at the back post and even Monkey was in on it by shouting for the ball to be whipped in to the back post instead of a shot.
