Did my first, and wont be last, parachute jump yesterday. Absolutely amazing. Proper free falling for 40 seconds
as well, total 'flight' 6 mins from 11,000ft.

You did you're first jump free fall? That's a tad unusual. was it a tandem jump?

I'm sure when our parachute regiment friend logs in (when he's not fighting Terry Taliban) he will confirm that parachuting has a certain feeling to it.

There is a period of time between the canopy opening and getting down to levels where you're thinking about landing when the silence is so complete and intense that it becomes almost spiritual.

As for Mr EA, wait until you try jumping at night, now thats scary.

I' m not sure I fancy jumping at night, I'd be to worried about dropping my torch.
But yes, was a tandem. Looking into doing full certificate. £300 though.
The fall before the canopy was unlike anything I've ever experienced, moving so fast but so freely.
Simply superb.
