Is what I'm gonna do and hopefully the team will too. Today was an absolute horror show with some of the most calamitous defending I have seen in a while.

However, any error can, by definition, be put right and hopefully Wadsworth will remind the lads that regardless of the poverty of today's defensive show we are not really as bad as the scoreline suggests.

The fact that Sheff Wed were nothing special is, of course, quite worrying but I'm not going to become all negative this soon into the new season and only two games into Wadsworth's control.

Let's put it behind us with a good show on Tuesday against the Cobblers.

Poolie till I die.

Yeah because we couldn't have had seven or eight with the number of chances we had, and we're not one of the best teams in this league ;)

To be honest never thought we could win this game prior.

A little bit more fight would not go a miss.

Extremely worried our two forwards can not last a full game, and also bringing a full back on when your getting beat at home? for a forward when you have forwards on the bench.

I wonder how much confidence that gives you as a sub.

Just one more the home crowd attendance was shocking I would consider that as our biggest game at home this season...Crowd wise I think we have hit rock bottom it wont get much worse.

Looking forward to the next encounter yawn2

Im suprised you went down 5-0. The Wendies looked nothing special against us pre-season and we didnt look up to much in that game either.

Maybe because that was a friendly? and we didn't play our strongest team, or maybe because our team hasn't gelled yet?

They weren't. They had 4 shots on target all game and little few other genuine chances to speak of. All four more or less unopposed strikes courtesy of shambolic defending. The first goal was an own goal hence the disparity between shots and goals.

They deserved the win like. You can't make the sort of errors we did and expect to escape unpunished.

Loan_star, it was more about fitness, the championship is overated, we're shit due to our 27mill of debt for ten years, but we haven't gone into administration, if we didn't have this debt, I would have fully expected us to be in the prem, which sucks :(

I'd like to see Billy Greulich get a game on Tuesday as B&B are both crocked and cant seem to get 90mins in between them

They had quality all over the pitch , Mellor ran the first half everytime he got the ball he looked dangerous .The way they controlled the ball from deep said everything ,not just hoofing it but spreading the play wide evrerytime . The quality of their subs compared to our's . I don't like to say it but we got a lesson today but as the title suggests let's FORGET IT AND MOVE ON

I thought they were nothing more than efficient. They ruthlessly took every chance we presented them with.

Still well worth the win, of course.

All i have to say is this. I was at Cardiff along with 42k other Sheffielders that day. We didn't deserve to be back in this division with the likes of you with teams like Palace cheating their way to safety.

i will see to it by virtue of personally overseaing a 15 Million buy out that we are never here again and our stay is short lived.

No play off against minnows fighting above their station required this time, or ever again.

bye bye monkey hangers, don't be too bitter. You are just anothing team and its not your fault, its just - you aren't Sheffield Wednesday.

Jeff Stelling your boys took one hell of a beating, and looking at the way we coasted, it won't be the last time this season. Relegation for the Monkey Hangers could well be in order.

A spelling mistake on a forum can be forgiven.

Pulling someone up about it often means you have nothing else to pull the person up for.

Thank you, and good bye.

This was the best bit. Thing is, you didn't deserve to go up in the first place. You blame Palace "cheating" for you getting relegated when one of your players won THE softest penalty i have ever seen (either that or the one today) at Cardiff which MacLean scored to send it to extra time. We desrved to go up that day and you lot know it!! rage rage

Just when I was beginning to think that Wednesday had less than it's fair share of rose-tinted ninkampoops......Mr.Hensfeet appears......doh. stpid

....another who thinks that because his team has more supporters attending a particular game than the oppo' that it gives them some divine right to assume they are better or should automatically win.

chip, morrison isn't 100% fit he didn't do any pre-season training, for whatever reason, before he signed for us late on. They are still trying to build up his strength and is still a few weeks away from bring 100%, apparently. When he is I'm assuming he will always be first choice. Especially as Tudgay will be off in the next few days

I thought the difference between the two sides was pace, movement and passing ability. They got forward very quickly using width. We are desperately short of pace and use the hoofball to get it forward quickly.
I am really concerned for James Brown, who appears to have slowed dramatically when attempting to run at defenders. Boydy has never had pace.
When I heard the Wednesday bench announced I feared the worst. When the likes of Paul Heffernan can't get on the pitch it spells strength.
On the attendance it appears that the hordes that were staying away until Turner left the club seem to have forgotten where the ground is......or they still have to hear of his departure.
Maybe the savings made from the departure of Turner and Green might be made available to get a pacy forward.

i'd like to apologize on behalf of the many decent and realistic Wednesday fans after that nob Henfleet's post.

Unfortunately we have far too many of fans like him who think the team with the biggest ground or the most fans has a divine right to win.If this was the case we would have beaten Palace last season in front of nigh on 40'000 fans and not gone down .
Having millions to spend doesn't automatically buy success also , look at Man City in the 80's ( and hopefully the 2010's)
and Newcastle in the 90's.
Also, although the 20 odd million debt we have is a millstone around our club's neck , it is not the reason we were relegated last season , out of form players ,injuries, complacency and farcical events off the pitch were.

It would be interesting to hear how Henfleet attributes Wimbledon and Wigan's rise from non league to the premier league .

Hopefully Hartlepool will improve on yesterday's performance and we look forward to meeting you again , hopefully in a
higher division. Good luck.

It's said that the human body has only enough blood pressure to power the brain or the penis .... I'd imagine Mr Henfleet has a permanent erection.

I saw Mellor at the start and thought 'He looks like he is carryinga bit of weight and shouldn't cause us many problems'.

By the 44th Minute I was wondering if we could swap them Larkin, Behan, Mackay, Bjornsson and Greulich for him. 5 forwards for 1 seems a good deal on paper.
