I'm putting a load of photos from the Tall Ships onto a DVD Slideshow and need some appropriate 'Sea' Music....any suggestions???? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Keep it local, use The younguns....www.the younguns.co.uk.

They do lots of shanties. Also there was a song competition for The Tall Ships, which they organised and which I went along to ...but I can't remember the name of the winner. It'll be on their web-site, Mutley.

Can't think of any that are really shanty-like offhand. I'd get Manfred Mann's EB "Singing the Dolphin Through" in there though, if only for Chris Thompson's voice.

Scottishpoolie over on Vital did lots of photos of the ships, which there are links for on the Vital board. I'm sure he won't mind you using them if you ask nicely :coool:

Band called High Tide had an album called 'Sea Shanties' about 1970/71. :grin:
Hardly sea shanties though...very heavy and loads of electric viloin. Must dig it out and listen again

there was some cornish fishermen who released an album of shanty's not so long back,fishermans friends i think they called them,also was'nt salty partial to a sea shanty or two get him to record you some
