Jimmy Reid, the union man who led the 1971 work-in at the Govan Shipyard and embarrassed the Tory government of the day died yesterday. If anyone has seen the speech he made during the work-in you will probably agree that it was truly inspirational. I remember seeing it on that 'Rock'n Roll Years' programme that was on years ago and have never forgotten it.

A true man of the people, RIP Jimmy.
